Call of Duty: Black Ops
is a first-person-shooter video game developed by Treyarch, published by Activision and released worldwide on November 9, 2010 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii consoles, with a separate version for Nintendo DS developed by N-Space.
Within 24 hours of going on sale, the game sold more than 5.6 million copies, 4.2 million in the U.S. and 1.4 million in the UK, breaking the record set by its predecessor Modern Warfare 2by some 2.3 million copies.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been confirmed as the next Call of Duty game. While the title has been long-rumored and hinted at by several leaks and rumors, an image of a pre-order card has given us all the clues we needed.
It seems that the game will be officially released on the 13th of November 2012, and will be headed to at least PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
This shouldn't be a surprise to anybody. Every single game of Call of Duty has been released during the month of November with only one exception of the very first installment, which was released on 29th October 2003.
First indication about getting a straight Black Ops sequel came via a rapidly-pulled Amazon France report back in February.
Black Ops 2 will be formally announced on the 1st of May during the NBA playoffs.
