I have been playing Silkroad for around a year, but just like the majority of this thread I agree on the fact that server owners just don't know how to utilize the coin system properly, whereas it isn't really hard - all you need is a little bit of imagination.

they got default, it's easy to spend / see what you can buy, a new life for trading.

Well you guys are all wierd.

Whats the purpose of the coin system?

The aim is to achieve a higher level of fairness by applying a heavier 'balance' in terms of play time on other objective, such as BA, CTF, UniqueHunting, jobbing, FW, GW. These are the basic 6 objective way to gain coins, since those are balanced (sorta) and are actually FUN to do.

Advantages of a proper coin system:
More CTF activity = more team play
More BA Activity = more team play
More Jobbing = More Team play
More Guildwars = mroe Team play
Better FortressWars = More team play.

Disadvantages

Bugs, cheating at jobbing, primarily.


Without a Coin System, with a *** **** normal piece of **** chance to get a **** Sun, you´d be either botting for a night only or be botting for years.
There has to be some sorta server balance which is not achieved through droprates, nor botting itself.

The coin systems were solely created for a general higher amount of player activity around teamplay based ingame functions.

Don't judge a system by the ones who control it. We server owners are the ones that ****** up. The system itself is good.

However, before you judge us, why don't you give us a SOLUTION instead of whining about the problem.

Everything would be alright if there was no way for thiefs to cheat for example. But there is always some lil loophole for those rats to crawl through.

Also, after giving ur solution give me the advantages of each part and the disadvantage of each part. Then summerize and evaluate your solution and then and only then, you will have completed the thought process that we go through. However,we all do it way more rigeriously and talk with other ppl about it. The problem is that the theory simply goes wrong somewhere in practisizing it.

to fix thief abuse quadruple the spawn so that only an 8 person party can take on all the damage. and also increase the return scroll time for thieves

The coin system is repetitive after seeing it on countless servers, something does need to change imo

yea ludo team did a nice job with the coin system but it was found an method to exploit too their coins.

Wont get coins for killing the same person in 24 hours.
If you add a level requirement and job penalty to that its practically not abusable.

Ok just wanted to clear out some stuff while I was passing by this thread, The argument happened between Phoenix 1337 and Erikr I would like to clear some points

I've traced down Erik skype and found out the following





And his skype profile says the same thing Norway, Oslo

While Haze :





I don't think they're the same person in a way or other.Being able to talk English in perfect way doesn't necessarily mean you're Haze or whatever. As for haze he has left the scene for good and dedicated himself to semi-pro sc2 gaming he told me that on phone since I'm close friend of him

Conclusion :

Erik =/= Haze, You better cut off the discussion about this ****

Yeah, they did pretty good job, but still, that wasn't jobbing, that was just gangbanging thieves or traders/hunters just outside the safezone. I meant real jobbing, like when you finish a trade, you would get some coins or when you steal the goods and sell them. That would be exploitable, traders could drop the goods for thieves. One way to stop that is to change the price of the goods, for example, 5* would cost 5 coins to buy, and thieves would get 5 coins. That way, even if they do drop the goods for thieves, they would get nothing.
Now, I don't know if implementing this is even possible.

This isn't a solution. Sometimes, when you thieve alone, you can find an easy 5*. Increasing the spawn would be death for thieves. Also, return scroll time is nice, you have 5 minutes to return your goods.

Nabend' zunächst hoffe ich das ich die Frage in den richtigen Berreich poste. Frage: Ich bin auf der Such nach einem "Coins-System". Fertige Pages habe ich hier ja schon gefunden, allerdings sind diese meist nicht das was ich suche (oder funktionieren ohne Mt2-Server nicht). Geplant habe ich einen Online-Shop, der prinzipiell wie ein Itemshop funktioniert allerdings mit dem Unterschied, dass der Inhalt natürlich ein ganz anderer ist =). Grundkentnisse in PHP, HTML und MySQL sind...
