[QUESTION]how to recive info from internet(packages)

hello, i am doing a tool for dark orbit, this program is just a timer that times 5 minutes, but u need to click on button to make it start, the question is how can i make it automaly detects when u kill the alien and it dies, and in that moment start counting, some ppl told me i can do that using packages, but i am not an expert programer so i dont know how to do it.

(i use visual studio 2008).
