There are quite some options, but im gonna list 2 of em
The accurate version:
Go into your FTP Client and look for the Folder "Maps".
In there, get the desired Maps u want to change the NPC standing point and save them on your desktop (drag&drop into a new folder or so).
Then, start your Server and stand on the place you want the npc to stay, hover your mouse onto your position on the minimap and write down the coords, as such:
Im standin between the blacksmith and lady that sells potions (forgot her name xD)
Then, open the Map folder you saved on your desktop earlier and open the npc.txt file (its gonna be hard to edit with the normal windows editor. you should use notepad++ if available)
It should look something like this:

9003 is the "Lady that sells Potions" and 20016 is the blacksmith.
Ill explain the important lines (ex. blacksmith)
672 556 are the coords on the map and 8 the direction he is looking at for example 8 is looking south and 4 north (i dont know if that is true xD). just test a little and u'll be fine.
everything else is more or less all the same.
So if u want to put another blacksmith between those 2 ppl (why so ever), it should look like this:

And again: 674 560 are the coords and i want that the second blacksmith looks at the same direction as the first blacksmith and the lady, so i use the value 8.
So that was example 1.

The Tool is easy to use. Double Click on it and select the file you want to edit.
