The Elder Scrolls Online: Results of the official AMA

In order to be able to interact with the community prior to the release of "The Elder Scrolls Online" on April 4, those responsible organized a AMA ("Ask Me Anything" - a round of questions) on Reddit. Many questions have been answered, including the exact time of the game's launch. Furthermore, a deletion of all the items, skills and levels players had gained during the beta has been announced.

Launch dates
Many questions focused on the exact point in time on which ESO will be available. The exact times are as follows:
  • Release (without early access): April 4, 01:00 (CET)
  • 3 days earlier access: April 1, 13:00 (CET)
  • 5 days earlier access: March 30, 13:00 (CET)

Itemshop and subscriptions
Due to a lot of criticism on the payment model of ESO, the publisher clarified: The itemshop will contain only name changes and pets, no expansion is planned. The opportunity to play any race in any alliance is an exclusive pre-order feature and will most likely not be available later on. As we know it from other subscription-based MMOs, there will be a discount on the monthly costs depending on how many of those you pay at once.

Content past release
After the launch of the game, the developers want to focus on the first adventure zone: Craglorn. More information is said to be announced soon. Speech bubbles are not planned. Expansions will be available in the future, however there are no specific plans at the moment. The way we know it from Guild Wars 2, they will constantly release new content.

Crafting
Some of the items which can be found will have unique attributes. Those cannot be crafted by the players themselves, yet there is the option to enhance them. To make alchemy a little more intesting, potions will be part of it from now on.

And what are your thoughts on "The Elder Scrolls Online"? Did you already pre-order the game?
