[Question] About c3 Files/Ingame Equipment

Ok, well from what I gather, absolutely no one has managed to find a way to edit c3 files as of yet, from something I read somewhere, I believe it's based on a custom plugin TQ used when creating. So since that's something I won't be able to achieve doing any time soon, I have another question. Would it be possible to build a new texture, and add it to a new piece of equipment, using a mesh already built for another texture, without having to replace any of the current textures? If it is possible, could someone give me a rough idea of what it is I'd need to change...

yeah its possible, but if ya gunna build a new item from scratch (texture wise) it would have to be a perfect fit onto the C3 or it'll look ****.

U could copy an existing texture and assign it to a C3 - I think Weapon.ini and 3DEffect are the ones you edit

One thing you need to keep in mind is the alpha layer; do you know how to use it and when to use it? (only need to know about this if your going to make your own texture - not a copy)

Ive done a few .DDS edits but i have never created a new item, so this is new to me but i know a little of whats needed

Making the textures is no problem for me, as long as I can have them read off the current meshes available without having to overwrite the current ones. I'm familiar with alpha layering of course, I have made a large number of edits to current textures, and released a few on other sites in the past.
