Co Patches Dont wrk

i used multiclient and didnt make a back up of original file and needed the original file for a friends who game got messed up. so i uninstalled my game to get clean one and then downloaded the patches. Well when i click the patch it gives me a error... "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". Ive never had a prob w/downloading patches from co and installing so wuts deal w/this? i cant even play b/c i cant patch it to the updated one

. Anyone able to help?

do you need the original exe?,i'l upload it

well not original exe, i re-installed the game. downloaded the newest game online. then i download the patches. i notice the patches dont look like they did like b4 they looked like win.rar files and i could extract them too look at them first. now they look like whiteblanks and i cant extract them too look inside. and it comes up w/error i said above. so basically im stuck unless i can get the patches in ther =\

You didn't tell us enough details about the problem. What operating system are you running? Is your user account an administrator(shouldn't matter)?

Also, have you tried downloading patches manually from the offical website and installing them? If you choose to do this you have to save them to your CO folder, close the download window when its done, goto your co folder and run the patch file. If you just download it to the CO directory and run it from the finished download window it will extract to your desktop.

yes i know that exactly how i did it b4 and i had no problems. i would download from site and put it in the co folder. then i would double click it and it would extract it. but its no longer doing that anymore. it dont even look like a win.rar file anymore and when i try to right click extract it dont give me option to extract just the option to compress -_- . Im running Win xp medicenter addition, Pentium 4 3.00ghz, 1 GB or ram, GeForce FX 5200 256MB.

make sure you still have winrar installed.
because windows doesnt seem to know what to do with the file.

else do 'open with...' > 'winrar'
and then manually extract it.

win rar is installed and unfortunatly it dont have a open w/either >.<

try to re-download the patch (manually from the site)

and if that doesnt work, re-install winrar.

it might work.

i could do it for you and ip it but i think its gonna be less pain to fix it now then to ask here for every patch

LOL ,its cuz the file extension isnt right it's ment to be .zip or .rar its .exe so go into tools, folder options, show extensions and change yu files thing from .exe to .zip or .rar

Actually the patch files are supposed to be .exe files. They are winrar .exe's.

This is very odd indeed. Well, glad you got it working.
