when i try to login i get a failed to connect to server error

There might be two reasons :

1. Log in bug : when you try to login , connect it will fully load then the message with "Failed to connect" will pop up

Solution : Do nothing and wait , it should auto-connect

2. Server down ...

Maybe you need FrameWork 3.5
