How to decrypt and unpack the Data.Dat files?

I search for a way to decrypt and unpack the Data.Dat files and I am stuck. I searched all the forum for old topics with answers to that, but I got nothing, only some ways to decrypt the .ini files, which do not work for the .dat files.
So...
Does anybody know 1) how can I decrypt the Data.Dat files and 2) how to extract the .dds files from them?

I can extract it .... but the tool is not for public at the moment.
And you will not find much dds files inside.

if you dont know with which program the dat files were encyrpted you can't decrypt them that easy so far. Go call nhn and ask with which prorgams they worked.

As i sayd ... more problematic are the other files like
.tx1
.ecl
.ean
.ews
... if someone can help to find out what file types this are , i can upload one of each.

Upload them and I will try to find a way to open them. I only managed to extract the dds, tif and png ones so far, but I still search for a way to extract the tx1, ecl, ean, ews and bm1 files. How you extracted them? You used a hex editor and manualy cropped some data? If so, I will need a few pointers as an example, because I tried this by myself, but I couldn't find where they start and where they end to crop them.

Update ... the .tx1 Files are crypted like the ini files but not with 1111 key.
You need to use the asdfqwer key to decrypt then ... after this it looks like they are DDS Files with DXT3 Image Data , but they are using a custom header.

Do you use an .exe for decrypt with the "asdfqwer" key that you can share? Because I have the decryptINI.exe that menasculio made and I can't change the key from "1111" to "asdfqwer". I tried with a hex editor to replace the 1111 and the 4 null chars after that to "asdfqwer", but it doesn't decrypt the file right. It seems that this is not the right way to change the key, so how should I change it?

Hi,
i stripped of a part of my program and did a small commandline tool for you.


Usage:
ALCryptDecryptINI.exe <File to Crypt/Decrypt> /k:<key>
or
ALCryptDecryptINI.exe <File to Crypt/Decrypt> for crypt/decryt with standard key 1111

Example: ALCryptDecryptINI.exe file1.tx1 /k:asdfqwer

The crypting/decrypting is done inplace.
For crypt/decrypt with the standard key, you can also drag/drop a file to ALCryptDecryptINI.exe (usefull for fast crypt/decrypt ini files).

And for they wanna know what picture is the *.tx1 its easier u can think

to rip data from the running game is easy. But can you also modify textures and write it back to the data.dat files ?

modify yes, write back i dont know cuz i didnt try it but why write back ?

u can use it without Data.dat the old Chinese Client does the same i compared the function between webzen and chinese and so u can modify that the client use files from dir, think back to CM time. The Patch Client includes Pics they wasnt in Data.dat Webzen use Data.dat.... try it
