i now what you mean they are like a desease the last few mounths
and even whene they relog you cannot be sure that its not a dube
my friend had same as you say but he see the char relog and still got dube item.
Only thing i think that can happend is that he was working togetter whit other char and trade him first the dube thene relog and thene trade quick back to his char and thene trade my friend .
only thing you can do is download fraps and take movie of it during trade if trade is done relog but keep movie running and see if its stil there if not send ticket
Also dont do trades like that with low lvl chars
