After an announcement at the beginning of this month, that the action game "Saints Row 4" is going to get published in Germany only in form of a cut version due to a content review made by the German Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body (USK), publisher Deep Silver lodged an objection against their decision and caused another classification procedure. This title has been rejected not only in Germany, but also in other countries -
as we have reported, Saints Row 4 was regraded from R18+ to "not classified" in Australia due to visually implied violence, which prohibits adults to play this game and which consequently led to a total ban.
Now, publisher Deep Silver announced an about-turn: Saints Row 4 is going to get released in Germany without any restrictions. This is the final result of USK's classification procedure.
"Saints Row 4 is going to get released in Germany completely uncut after all. During an appeal, the USK repeated their classification procedure and approved the open world title by publisher Deep Silver for adults over 18. We are glad, that the German community will be able to play Saints Row 4 completely without restrictions and we would like to give thanks to USK for constructive cooperation within the classifying process", stated the publisher.
Moreover a new trailer was released, where the return of Johnny "Invincible" Gats - a character from current title "Saints Row: The Third" - has been announced. Saints Row 4 is going to get released in Europe on August 23 this year for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
