The upcoming "Chaos Rising" expansion brings new Mega Evolution ex cards this May.
The Pokémon Company International has officially revealed the next major expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Titled Mega Evolution - Chaos Rising, the new set will hit retail stores worldwide on May 22, 2026.
Lore & Featured Pokémon
The theme of the set revolves around darkness falling over Lumiose City as Mega Floette ex wreaks havoc. To counter the threat, trainers will be able to harness the power of Mega Greninja ex, alongside other heavy hitters like Mega Pyroar ex and Mega Dragalge ex.
One of the most interesting features of this expansion is a new style of ultra-rare cards that will feature striking artwork showcasing the silhouettes of the Pokémon's original (non mega) forms.

Collectors and competitive players can expect a solid lineup of new cards to chase. Notable inclusions are:
- 5 Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
- 5 standard Pokémon ex
- 11 Illustration Rare Pokémon
- 18 Ultra Rare Pokémon and Trainer cards
- 6 Special Illustration Rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
Products & Pre-Release Events
As usual, Chaos Rising will be available in standard booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes (ETBs), and various special collections.
If you want to get your hands on the cards early, local Play! Pokémon partner stores will be hosting pre-release tournaments starting on May 9, 2026.
