If you've received an invoice, that would be someone sending you a request for money not you actually receiving money. Marking it as paid means that the person that sent it marked it as paid. From what you're describing as well as the fact that your balance hasn't gone up, all would seem to indicate that someone has sent you an invoice and made it seem like it was a payment. Sorry.

That was the response from Paypal when I asked why my paypal balance didn't change. Unlucky me...
