Cloudflare - Register, Setup, NS-Record, FAQ
*even the free Version is very good to protect your webserver against Proxytrollings, fake-registers and DDoS

Step1: Create a Cloudflare Account


Step2: Add your Website


Step3: Wait until Cloudflare scans your current Domain settings (Domain records)



Step4: Add your Subdomains (incase you have more than 1 Server / realm / divison whatever)


Step5: Choose your wished settings (*those on the picture are tested and optimized)


Step6: Your new NS-Records


Now the only "tricky" thing

1. Browse to the website of your Webhoster (domainhoster like strato, ovh or others)
2. Move to your Domain-settings and change your NS-Records(Nameserver-Records)
Use the Nameserver-Records which Cloudflare brought you in Step6!
3. save those new records.

FAQs:

 It says DNS Update tooks up to 24hours

Well, this depends on your provider. In the most cases a NS-Record change will take immediatly effect to all the ISPs - those 24hours are maximum delays for rare ISPs, like in the arctic circle or something similar .

 I want to add the NS-Records out of Step6 but it wants me to use "absolute"...

An absolut servername is almost the same as the "normal" Servername. Look at the example.



*simply add a dot after the normal name, and you will get your absolute name.

 I cant connect to my URL which is cloudflare protected

In most cases your local DNS Cache is outdated. Simply open your CMD(commandline) and write this

ipconfig /flushdns

Now it should work.

This is pretty easy, it also hides your domain ip, but when someone knows your real ip it is not gonna help ofc, it is recommended to buy a hardware firewall.
Why?
- it will be much better to protect your from dos,ddos attacks even if someone had known your real ip.

The worst thing in cloudflare; any dns checker website will get your real ip.

Hardware firewall isn't recommended, just proxy ip from trusted company will solve the attack problem.
