This is the first time u get in contact with a beta?

It's like this:
Pre alhpa -> Alpha -> Closed Beta -> Open Beta -> Game release.

Open beta is usally for the stress test of the game! I have played these opens beta: EoE, Warhammer online, Aion, HoN, BF3, BF2... I can continue all day. All of them have been restting everything befor the release. You know why? Because Beta is bugged, that's why it's called "Beta" Let's say I find a bug that make me max lvl in a week. Ya still don't think they will reset it? Think again...

You are talking about P2P and B2P games.
There has never been and will never be a wipe after an open beta in F2P games.
Unlike the P2P and B2P games, these games are free and you don't need to pay to get access. Also, this is the main reason for a wipe in P2P and B2P games.
