Silkroad Quests .. When Silkroad Was Worth it

Hello ..

Do you guys remember When Silkroad Was 60% About Quests ??

it was fun and we had to do Activites

i don't know why no one cares to do Private Server Based on Quests

Imagine Grinding , Farming , Looting good boxes via Cool funny quests

like killing different kind of mobs Or Transporting item from town to town

I Guess its not about fun anymore

its about getting money only


Felt sorry for Quest Side

Silkroad has no mechanics to create great quests. You have like 4 types of quests, all not requiring a single braincell to succeed.

-> Collect X items = grind
-> Kill X mobs = grind
-> Deliver this useless item = worse than grind
-> Catch mob with trap = ... meh

All you can do is grind.

Quests have no influence on your character or the game at all. No relation to anything. Good quests would make a different to your character, change "his/her" reputation, create relationships with NPCs (e.g. affecting individual prices for you), influence your characters stats (more str/int, base luck, hit rate, parry rate, etc.).

SROs quests can just reward Gold, Items, Exp and SP. Wow.

but don't you think that modifing quest system in private sro can do alot of awesome things ? ?

As florian0 mentioned this has not been the case.
SRO only had 3 important quest lines before Cap 110:

- Inventory Quest
- Berzerker Quest
- Ivy Quest (20x Berzerk Scrolls)

All other quests were useless. The amount of EXP, SP and Gold you get from most of the quests is way too low. It was not even worth to deliver the quests because that would have wasted too time.

Joymax even acknowledged this issue with the Cap 110 update. Starting with Cap 110 they introduced quests that are repeatable for an endless amount of times. With these quests Joymax also increased the SP you get. Remember the SP Farming in the Job Temple? Something that did not exist before.

With SRO-R they introduced the Outpost-Quests. Unfortunately each of these quests can only be done 1 - 4 times or so. But these quests finally reward the player in a good way. Really good EXP, really good SP, and Tokens (that can be used to get a DG 8 Sun set). But hey. After Level 70 you won't find any new outposts. Looks like Joymax forgot about all the other players.

In the end even these quests were the same boring **** as before. Mainly because Joymax never thought of implementing a really good quest system. Even for 2005 standards Joymax quest system has been ****.

Would it be possible for pServers to implement an own, more improved quest system? Unless they have access to the source code the answer is: No.

Was sind die Hero of Tatooine Quests? Schon von Anfang an implementiert, haben viele Leute versucht die Quests zu lösen - meist ohne Erfolg das sie massiv verbugged waren.
