30k dmg exploit hunters/archers

I remember back on OS on few occasions there were few hunters/archers who hit 30k HP/SP/MP dmg with skills like deadly poison shot, nailed shot etc. GM's said it's not exploitable but just a bug, and that it has been dealt with. Since then i haven't really seen it on OS nor on PServers that i played on.

However, on most recent PServer i'm on, there's been increasing number of those 30k dmg hits, especially with lvl1 of those skills in 1-15 zone and all of the people are defending themselves with just saying they don't know how it happened nor did they do it on purpose.
What i want to know is if anyone can tell me if it CAN be exploited, or is it just a bug that randomly happens. Kinda think that if it's in game, then it can be exploited/made on purpose, but what do i know, so a confirmation from someone who can do it (don't want to know how to do it) would be nice.

There isn't any exploit for this; the one that there is/was is on Rangers/Sins. They are most likely wearing GM accessories

That happened to me few times. Mostly it happened with viper string shot, hitting 30k hp/mp/sp. But it also happened with debuff lapises ( desease and confusion linked in 1 wep) although it was an oracle that did it. She was spaming mana slug with debuff wep on me. I was playing with priest back then, and all the times it happened i had health assistant on. Dont know if this has something to do with the bug tho.

Yeah could be something to do with it, maybe just ranged toons have that bug, no idea. Reason why i'm asking if it can be exploited is because i wanna know if those people deserve to be banned or was it really a glitch.

@John Not speaking of the old Stealth exploit, this is just with Archers/Hunters so far, and GM accessories are not the case, im 100% sure of that lol.
First thing i know is that at least these GMs wouldn't give people even a useless lapis, let alone something like GM loop. Also the dmg cap isn't 30k anymore, so with GM loop he would be doing the max dmg not 30k, and last, all the hits from those people are normal as they should be, just when DoT's are being spammed, one of those dots drains 30k HP/SP/MP on first hit for some reason.

From what i have Seen Toxin Lapis has something to do with this not sure what the connection is but it is common when this happens a Toxin lapis is involved

Yes you just made me remember as well happens with toxin, happened on OS once as well with that, i'll try to dig up SS from OS forums. But think it's not cause of debuff is involved but because it's damage over time. Seems to happen only with skills that will drain your HP MP or SP over time.
Even with these people that manage to hit 30k with it, it doesn't hit with all hits, even with all DoT's, it's just one of them that does that dmg. For example, used DPS, used Mana shot, used nailed shot and bam nailed hits 30k.

Like i said 2 reasons:
1) Completely trust the Admins on this server since it's up for well over a year now with a player base of 700+ people and doubt they'd risk it all by giving few archers/hunters in 1-15 GM accessories. But even more sure cause of the next reason which is:
2) The dmg cap is 40k on both mobs and players, so the dmg wouldn't limit to 30k.

Also the thing is, doubt that all of them archers would play full time without GM loop, then just put it when they do said skills, even back on OS when it happened back in EP4 (or was it start of EP5, cant remember now) happened only with those said skills.
At first i did consider also a dmg log glitch but then once it 1 hit me i found out it does deal the dmg.

IF however they would all be using GM accessories (for whichever reason archers/hunters only), i'd take my hat off to them since they'd have to be most organized people on all of servers to never slip up and do any other hit with GM acc's other than DoT dmg skills, for like 3+ years now or so, ever since it's been noticed first.

Bugs in the damage, and as well, by having just one accessory you won't hit the maximum possible

Well, since he's talking about Haven, I'm going to stick my neck out there and say it's not GM accessories, since, like Skill said, we run a pretty tight ship. I would personally track down the home address of and proceed to brutally murder anyone who messed with my server like that.

Good to know it happens on OS too though. Now I don't feel so bad. lol

(PS- obviously that was exaggeration and I would never actually murder anyone o.o)

Now, track down actions in the database, because there isn't any hack for damage, as damage is done server sided; if there is any sort of exploit going on, it is logged in your database only.

first thing that got into my mind idk how but it happend to my testserver that from time to time my skills bug around a little as i had for example buffs not working for anyone anymore since the range had decreased itself (dont ask me how that could happen but it did) so first thing that got into my mind check maybe the server sided skills if the "poison dmg or the percent damage" is involved into that as OS said they dealt with it and that without an update it must be server sided.

Yup, haven't seen it on OS since back then when GMs stated it won't be happening anymore nor have i heard any complaints about it.
If it'll help with more detail about it.
1) It doesn't always have to be spammed DoT skills, if you use 3 of them, sometimes first one will hit 30k, sometimes 2nd with first one being normal, sometimes 3rd with first 2 hitting normal legit dmg.
2) As the person who posted on page 1 also reminded me, there was issue with toxin linked weaps back on OS, and pretty sure that it was a pagan who hit 30k dmg with Toxin.
I'll try and do some dual boxing tests to see if i can make it happen. Main reason i asked in first place is cause these people are getting reported, and i really wanna know if they are actually doing it on purpose or is it just a honest mistake.
