in creating a sever could i used Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 Express... because thats newer then sql 2008 and 2005..

It doesn't matter which version you use as far as you configure it correctly, as an example I have always used 2005 Developer Edition and have never had any issue at all with it, as well 2008r2 is one of the most popular ones, so yes, it doesn't matter as far as the configuration is done correctly and obviously, that you know how to work on it.

From my experience, SQL Server 2005 express is the easiest, simplest and best.
