Too many uses of the word beta all the time and it annoys me a little.

It's either a closed beta test because registration is closed, or it's an alpha test.

Sorry, just being pedantic. It's a little thing which annoys me.

You're close Ishtaria.

Folks seem to need to understand what the various stages of testing really mean in the real world. These are the phases my employer uses (they are almost identical to those used by other heavy hitters like Microsoft and Oracle):

Unit testing

Stand-alone, non-integrated functional testing done by the developer before staging for Alpha testing. Actually part of the coder's duties when he develops code.

Alpha testing (AKA Integration or system testing)

Internal staff testing only. No external testers though most large dev shops will have teams of dedicated testing staff. Full NDA in effect because features are still under heavy development and subject to significant change.

Closed BETA testing (CBT)

Internal staff testing and selected external testers. Full NDA in effect. This phase is used for functional testing with a small,well monitored group of testers to fine tune the system. Because major changes can take place, an NDA is enforced to reduce creation of unattainable expectations when functions are tested & found unusable. Changes can be significant. This is the phase I see BWG in now.

Open BETA testing (OBT)

Open Beta Testing is public testing open to anyone. It exists to ensure the system can handle unforeseen volume and usage patterns. It is testing. It is understood that bugs will be found and major changes can take place that will affect server stability. Also because it is open to public access, no NDA is required since major features are set and stable at this point. This is what I see BWG moving to as its next testing phase - when it opens its doors for public testing. This is not in any way shape or form a closed beta test since the doors are OPEN for public testing. Changes are not expected to be significant.

Release - product locked down and provided for public use. Only changes that do not affect stability are allowed. No untested changes are tolerated. No NDA possible at this level.

I hope this makes sens to the folks here and reduces the misuse of terms like "Alpha", "CBT" and "OBT".

okay so few suggestion I have in case your could tweak certain things.

Make the disconnection timeout duration longer:

I dont know what the default time for the game to disconnect the character after there is no packets [send/receive] connection to server. But I want to make it longer like 60-120 sec. This will help few ways. It will help people who lost internet connection few second to resume the game without re-launching the launcher and also it help cheaters who just close [alt+f4] rohan to avoid a gank.

Make FPS of the game better:

This is completely self-explanatory. The more fps the smoother the game feels. Would be great if you could bump it to 60.

Release clients with both GUI (old and new)

I believe i said it before, but i completely hate the new blue GUI rohan added to its game after the hero update release. Would be great if you could release a client with the old GUI or just release a patch-up file for the old GUI lovers.

Just my opinion regarding the frame rate.

60fps is really nice but the game engine just isn't very good at sustaining it. When there's a lot of things going on, the frame rate tanks regardless of how powerful your PC is. There's also a hell of a lot of stuttering going on outside of busy moments too.

I would recommend 30fps though, simply because it offers a noticeable improvement over the current 20fps cap and it will be less choppy than 60fps is - kind of the best overall experience imo.

It's entirely up to the BWG guys what they choose though.

hmmm, not sure if that's possible, but players could chose how much FPS do they want, and selecting betwen 30 to 60 is a good idea (in launcher)

We got atm 40 FPS in our Client.
It works well with Skills,Fishing etc

If we Set the FPS 40+ the Problem is there will be Bugs on some Stuff.

The most we'll use is 40 FPS.
Why?
Simple: numerous tests made the result is the same, regardless of the version of the MapID we use. Why use above 40 some bugs are found, among them fatal bug mapID.

On the question of the user set the FPS. It is possible but it's a little dangerous. Not always when a user is defined value of 100 or 249 on the grid. He has some bugs and more people can be moderators in other words. What we can do is put a fixed value for FPS. That's all.

Who worked with increased FPS understands very well the problems found.
