Due to a complete lack of any mining, crafting, or upgrading help in the tutorial, I've compiled some information on crafting and upgrading that will help you through the basic systems (again, so you dont have to read for a couple hours+ like i just did when i made my specialist). Here you go:
I. Resource Mining System
In this game, the mined ores are mainly used for upgrading equipment and making items. Pay a certain amount of gold to ?Mineral Merchant? to get refined ores, which the player can use to upgrade equipment, or sell to NPC for gold.
Necessary items for mining
In RF Online, all the three races, Beloato, Cora and Accretia can mine ores. You can start to mine at any time if you have ?mining drill? and ?battery?. You can purchase mining drill and battery from ?Mineral Merchant? in city
Mining camp
When you get all mining tools ready, you can go to the mine on a transmitter. Since you need a large amount of ores to upgrade equipment, make sure to clear all the unnecessary items in the inventory before mining.
Mining
Under the status of equipping mining drill and battery, click to select combat mode, and the mining interface will show up. Click ?Mine? to start mining. The ores obtained will be put into the inventory automatically. If the inventory is full, the mining will automatically stop.
After mining
Basically, there are five kinds of ores which can be mined, blue ore, red ore, yellow ore, green ore and black ore. You can sell ores to obtain gold. You can refine ore by paying a certain amount of gold to ?Mineral Merchant? in the city. The refined ores are the necessary materials for making items or upgrading equipment. What kind of refined ore the player can get depends on the type of the ore the player provides.
II. Crafting system
Before crafting item, you need to decide primary materials and secondary materials, which are the resources extracted from mineral or the loots obtained via hunting. Primary materials and secondary materials will vary depending on the item you want to create.
When you prepare all the necessary materials, you can purchase crafting tools from merchants. Right click on the crafting tool in the backpack to open item-crafting window. Select the item you want to create to make crafting tools. However, the crafted items will vary depending on the type of crafting skill.
Steps to craft item
Purchase item crafting tools from ?Merchant? who sells ?weapon/shield crafting tool?, ?launcher crafting tool? and ?armor crafting tool?. If you want to create weapon or shield, you will need to buy ?weapon/shield crafting tool?, and ?launcher crafting tool? for creating launcher, ?armor crafting tool? for creating armor respectively.
Click the crafting tool put in the inventory and a crafting interface will show up.
Select the item you want to create, and the type and number of ?primary material? and ?secondary material? will appear below. When you get all the necessary materials ready, click to select ?Craft? button to create the item.
III. Upgrading system
Apart from leveling up, players can always advance into a superior player through enhancing their weapons. Players can either choose to purchase good weapons from other players or to enhance the weapons they currently possess. The latter is the so called ?item upgrading?.
How to upgrade item
1, Purchase ?weapon upgrading item? from merchant.
2, Right click ?weapon upgrading item? in the inventory and an upgrading interface will show up.
3, Learn level restriction for upgrading the item.
This Item can be upgrade 7 time (it has been upgraded for twice )
4, Put the item you want to upgrade and the necessary Talic or jewel into the appropriate place, though you can upgrade your item as well even if you haven?t embedded Talic or jewel.
5, Click ?upgrade? to upgrade your item. The message whether the upgrade succeeds or fails will be displayed in the Dialogue box. If you want to increase the chance of success, put the jewel that increases the chance of success in the ?upgrading? window.
Click the jewel and talic to see the their information
need to pay attention how many times the item can be upgraded. If you fail on an upgrade, you may be punished based on the times that the weapon has been upgraded.
Upgraded for 1 to 4 times: If you fail on an upgrade, you will lose the Jewel or Talic you use for upgrading.
Upgraded for more than 5 times: If you fail on an upgrade, your may lose item as well; there is chance that you won?t lose the item, but your weapon may lose all the upgrading effect achieved before. So think twice before upgrading.
That should get you through the basics of mining, crafting, and upgrading. Have fun!
