I agree overall that Master Class should have a close magnifying glass stuck on him and reviewed from top to bottom with an actual battle plan to fix it's quite obviously rushed development. So I think for new we will simply turn these options off at the TSP (while keeping them available to the team for future review/reimplementation)

I agree that two server may be a bit much and that we should find a nice middle ground. I'm thinking such a thing could be x10-15 weekday and double exp weekends? As I said before I'm open to talks about this.

In regards to the staging pets, I want to say that I also think it's a feature that should be implemented with possible revision to staging difficulty + staged rewards (jp, skills etc) but I do feel it should stay at the TSP (even with reimplemented pet taming chances)

As per the quest discussion here are my personal thoughts:

I am currently rebuilding an old tool of mine called NaviQuest whose specific function is editing/creating quest/questlines, this should tell you my primary stance on questing in Rappelz. I do believe that Rappelz was originally a quest-based korean grinder who kinda lost his way. I believe with a delicate touch and some ingenuity on the communities part we could take this a long way! (I plan to allow users to submit questlines (with a template) for review and possible implementation into the game!)

I feel Rappelz has become 'too easy' while also having become 'too casino' I think it has lost it's since of joy and accomplishment and those things must be focused on in order to ever attempt a fix or reconciliation.

Final Words:

I spent that last several days computerless after my personal laptop crashed on me. I am back and working again however, so please excuse the silence. Within the coming week an actual forum for the discussions regarding the TSP will become available as-well as Mareks shiny new TSP website!

I'd like to thank you all again for your participation and I hope it becomes a mainstay of the Teal Sky Project! (if I did not address your concern feel free to bring it to my attention)
1st I felt like you kinda missed the huge comment I made about the post-masterclass issues, I'd like to see what u think about it and if you plan to try fixing those problems or, anyway, its a reality, how do you plan to handle it?

Besides this, since we are already kind of talking about things we'd like to see and thing we wouldnt like to see, here is another opinion of mine, this about the custom NPCs that sell stuff. I am going to tell you why they shouldn't exist.

The main reason a person plays an MMO, or any game really, its not because of pleasure and joy itself, its the sense of achievment that keep us playing, specially MMOs that are meant to keep you with goals to reach for a long time.
Now, an achievment can be either very rewarding and a little rewarding, both must exist in peace in order to keep up a good experience with the flow, because if you have only small achievments there is no big challenge, no big mountain to climb, you'll be constantly reaching your goals and while the time passes by you stop caring about it and lose your motivation to play.
On the other hand, when u have only big achievments it can be overwhelming and frustrating because you never get any sense of acomplishment, not even small ones that must be your path to reaching high plateaus and doing big things, so, to sum up: you need a balance between those two.
But here comes a question for you: is it possible to make small things look bigger just by changing the way we see it? Yes. Let me give u an exemple, lets say there is a certain item in the NPC that costs 3 million rupees, and I have no cash so I go ahead and farm to get an item wich I am going to sell to the NPC and than buy the item I want. Ok thats one way to look at things, now lets try this way, lets say now I still need that item but in this scenario the item no longer sells in the NPC, so I go ahead and farm for a chance to get the actual item I want, and trust me, if you get it, its a better experience than if u simply farmed cash and bought the item.

Now talking about the economic aspects of it, playing MMOs for a long time And its easy to say: inflation always happens, and you need many mechanics to handle with it buut, custom NPCs are not the way to go, and here is why:

When you place items in an NPCs store they cost an x amount of rupees, but as the time passes by the same x amount has lost its value and The NPC item (that costs the same thing the whole time) is graduating to be a smaller achievment everytime someone kill a mob and generates money in to the game, to a point where they lose all their value and have no economical influence, you may wanna reajust prices at some point but than u have to deal with two BIG problems: 1st are the newcomers that could never afford what for an endgame player is considered as 'nothing', and 2nd its the MOUNTAIN of flame you'd get from the end game players because at that point they actually would have to pay a significant amount of money to something that once was basicly free.

Here is my suggestion for Custom NPCs: make all items you'd sell in the NPC dropable in a little box (kind of like Zesua's 5.2 box, you should check it) and that box would have a decent droprate because there are many items that would drop there and you'd need to 'roll the dice' many times.

Benefits of it is that the items will never lose their value and pricing will be controled by server economics, while using Custom NPC they constantly lose their values. Other than that its way better to actually drop ur item than selling stuff to buy it, adds odds in to the mix, and rappelz is a game of odds.

Regarding XP rates, here is my insight about it, if you wanna escape from the usual scenario that we've seen happen so many times in private servers you need to take a risk and think about whats best for the gameplay itself and not whats attractive to players at first...

Rappelz just like any other game has a limited amount of content and therefore you'll find and end to it. Now a line you probably know: "Its not the reward that matters, its the path".

the problem with a high rate its that you dont get to enjoy the achievments along the way, and you lack a good part of the experience you should've gotten. At some point you are going to see yourself fast in to the endgame doing things over and over again non-stop because YOU RAN OUT OF CONTENT.

Its not that you can avoid players to run out of content, but a decent pace must happen, and in this case the 'pace' its the experience rate, and with all the 7 years I have playing this game I came to a conclusion that you CANT fully enjoy each step of the way if the XP rate is above something around 3x as usual.

And eventually when people run out of content, one thing or another may happen: they'll eventually quit if there is nothing that hold them to the ground, or they'll stick around if they thing that there is a good reason for them to be there, and usually what keeps MMO players playing even after they reached a plateau that there is nothing left to do is the community, the friends we make along our path. And to build up a nice community they need to know each other, and for that the game needs a path worth walking in to it, not just rushing about levels, but enjoying each step of the way.

if this could be called a balance for pvp. i used to test this server having pk wars after leaving shadow server one year ago. right now it's all dead. not many players from pk wars i had with are playing this game.
it's still crazy output for having critical power only in weapons
the next server where i used similar playstyles were prophecy server XD alot of hate.

No gr4ph0s, I built it from an empty css and empty aspx page. Also we have our own website to post your issues to Dev0uring.

Btw gr4ph0s, how does this - - resemble any of my creation?
