Those who wish to play the 7.3 for the time being can do so by installing the portal, it will download-install and update the 7.3 client without problem.

To play the 8.1 server, just download the client below:

Extract the zip to wherever you like and double click start.cmd

-- Manual Patch (2-20-2013)

-- To install manual patch, simply extract the files in the zip into your clients resource folder (overwriting all files)

All you need to do in order to play in Phoenix :

Download the Portal installation files from above

Install the Portal (by default if not changed ~/Program Files/The Otherworld Studios/The Portal)

Run the Portal.exe from your Desktop (It's a shortcut)

The Portal will check for updates automatically in the startup

Register an account (the account will work on the Portal & ingame)

Open up 'Client download'

Download the client from the opened panel ^

Wait till the download finishes and the client is installed (the Portal MIGHT freeze, but just wait for it to unfreeze)

Open up the launcher

A lot of updates will occur at first run

Play

Maintenance Debrief --MORNING-- 2/20/2013

This morning the following changes have been made to the server:

- Pieces now will buff your main pet automatically
- Premium Only Teleporter Lists re-enabled
- Taming Creature Skill CD Reduced to 1min
- Grace Skill CD Reduced from 5hr to 2.5hr
- Final Attempt at correcting Trainee Island Teleporter (Dedication Package)

sry dont haved time to read...

u are littl funny Drow...

-making Pieces buffing pets,but we still cant get them(whithout to be 24/7 online to w8 for u so u mayb give them out)
-u delete the Perma running World Buffs and make them for 30min(retail like) but whe cant get them whithout to w8 for u or to making alot of toons to get them from TI quests lol

then we are rly anoing by farming like 2 Days the Koala in CV1-2,what i can say about.
-u cant find him cuz he running on the walls out of range
-if u find him u cant kill him cuz out of range on the wall
-if u killed him u enter a bugy HM where u only see a 1 m² of the Map

(I know not all can be what we like,and all need his time....but its just anoing me and my guildis

there is just no fun here)

I remember u talk about Vote Shop and so on...are we need to Vote 2Days later to get some Pieces/World Buffs/Grow Pots or what are u thinking?

Not that I should provide you any answers as you apparently can't absorb the information being told to you but:

The pieces, deco is being handed out because my co-founder and portal developer Marek needed to go out of country for 3 days. (this was said and posted about I dunno 150 million times)

I was not aware of this koala bug yet, but thanks for using the proper channels to report it :eyeroll:

Furthermore if you're just here to complain that you're not getting spoonfed, you can go right ahead and **** off. ^^

Marek's back by the way, busting my *** for some updates for you guys

Since I am back I will be looking through the necessary updates for the Portal.

I have received complaints about the 'redrawing' or 'the flickering' issue that is very common, this will be fixed in the next update. The updater and launcher mechanics will be updated to reflect 8.1 system schema - this will not be an update, but a new install. Players already having the 8.1 client installed in a separate folder can, ofcourse, select the Portals installation location to the respective folder.

The vote shop will be taken under development tomorrow (21.02.13) where I will be pushing towards releasing a basic vote shop system (will be updated in near future ofcourse).

Any questions regarding these matters can be directed to me @ Skype (marek.rander) or issued to the comments.

It does not sound like it. Portal.exe will try to update and patch for 7.3 while start.cmd bypasses that and will leave the 8.1 files alone.

When I use portal.exe I can run 7.3, when I start with start.cmd I get an error...

That's probably because you did not get rid of 7.3 files before unzipping 8.1, or you updated 7.3 after unzipping 8.1

To me it sounds like a file conflict error if you can still run 7.3 you still have 7.3 files not 8.1
