ok got the files all set up and everything but have one question how do i change the values for the string.resource so they arn't encrypted so they are readable

Use the search button it's described in a lot of threads...download the dumper and the stringeditor from RappelzDownloadCenter. Export the db_string.rdb from the client and use the stringeditor to import it into the db.

First of all you are trying to restore a 2012 bakfile in an mssql 2008 instance. You have to update your instance.
