Just another sign, of your knowledge about server hosting.

You can't go to your hoster and say: Meeenz I'm being ddos'ed. Here I got some new switches, just plug them in.

The each host got their own infrastructure and all switches there are managed. So you can't just replace them without a complete reconfiguration process.

So the only thing, you can do is: Ask the hoster for help. They can set up their switches to filter some kind of traffic.

And: If you are hinting towards DKfight: They are using vServers! You can't prevent a ddos attack on a vserver cause the hostmachine is being attacked and you got no influence on the hostmachine.
