I have always thought the same. But with much work we had to do on atomix when we opened when there weren't enough tutorials as now. We totally forgot.
So our rates is set to 450x but actually it's not. W8 a min. who first came up with the idea that rates are multiplied by 1K? -Mykha

Chernobyl made a typo i guess or just wasn't paying attention because look this is what he wrote:
Gameserver reads rates as (real rate * 1000), it means, if you set rates to
35000, experience gain coefficent will be 35x. By default, gameserver forbidds making them more than 250 (2.5 x), but it's easy to crack.
In the begin he says its x1000(which should be x100) and 35000 is actually 350x but later he says it right 250 is indeed 2.5x. He just made a typo there or wasn't paying attention^^

i dont own a server right now, but i can tell, that many server out there have quite knowledge of what synx posted here, but most wont care since the only thing they think is money
(i like server with x50 rates, no 99999x like other people out there)

I can see what synx is saying and completely agree. I remember when i felt 10x was amazing, not these 400-500-1000x servers. But the problem you have is that you cant change what has now become the common. People have played 10-20 servers and are now use to that sort of rate. If you want a mid rate server synx just dont change anything with the rates, and you will gain your mid rate players. 90% of SRO players though have forgoten what leveling in SRO is, and to use too 1-3 hours cap servers, and you either change for there liking or keep building what you want as a server.

Yeah, thats the sad part. I understand higher rates on 120 cap servers, but rates over x500 are too much, doesn't matter what people say, and if we also consider that people saying they have rates x500 are probably x5000, ***** up everything for people who actually took the time to figure out how the rates works. -_-
By the way, anyone managed to bypass the exp/premium ticket limit? By default they increase the rates on x1 based on your current server rates, I managed to increase it to x10, but I think the gameserver has a limit on it.

Look synx , in now days on my server i am planing to make a EXP Stages THE idea is taken from Tibia Open Private servers...
you can decrease low levels rates at DB about 150 e.g : 1~60.
then increase it some in 60~90.
More in 90~100.
Then start to be harder like just 50x from 101~110.
Be more and more harder at 110~120.
then make it Ultra hard at 120~130.
also you can set the config to default so i think just think it is better in game play to see low numbers like Gain [500exp] it is bad when it is [ 50000000 exp]
and increase the rate from DB table by Query and divide each cell by the rate you want ^^
i was thinking of this idea , but i am not sure that this EXP db is exist or not xDDD

Yeah reduce required exp is another way for change exp rates. I did what you said but inverse, started with low rates (x200) until lv 70+, which rates are x300, because Silkroad's level req increases dramatically on high levels, which makes impossible to reach in less than a year.

heh id love to develop something close to GW2 leveling systems. A smooth straight leveling and not a curve like most mmos. 0-20 same as 90-110 ect. would be interesting but alot of work.

Another solution you guys might like:
which is:
edit the [ExpToGive] column at RefObjChar.
for each mob , you choose what you like. but.. keep in mind the required exp aswell.
