Do you know the string of that item in your database? Like ITEM_MALL_ASSASSIN_BLABLA, if yes, find that line, go to its end and figure out which *.bsr file it uses.
Once you got the needed file name, search for it at the data.pk2.
Finding it there, extract it and open it with a passable editor like notepad++.
There you will see the necessary linked files properly showing the avatar's mesh, texture, particle (.bmt, .bms, etc).
Write down those paths to the other files, search for them, open those...
Keep on doing this and you might find your missing file in the end, probably just a missing *.efp or *.ddj file, who knows.
