[Show Off] Custom skills in later patches? Yes it's possible

Hey,

So I got rather bored and decided I would show off a new skill I created, It's called DieBitch.

I cast it on a player it shows a blue beam effect & hits them 9999999999, aka, Insta kill in style.

So yes, It's possible! I know its been doubted. Most people have only managed adding skill pre-made and copy&pasting files from later clients, No this isnt a edited skill its an entire new skill! :)

As always, Special thanks to Ultimation for showing me how after I got stuck & failed.

As a begin? -.-

Thats easy enough to do, I just didn't want to create my own effects.

@turk: Yeah bish, but he uses a different colour for the effect :P

Zeroxelli 05/27/2012 19:28

Ah, one of the effects related to the four pillars in BI. I had used that for a custom Nado before. But yes, it is possible. It mainly depends on your client version, because (I believe) it's harder to do on newer clients than older clients, or the other way around, don't remember.

_DreadNought_ 05/27/2012 20:08

Actually I thought it was harder on newer clients, but it's actually easy, 5min job (without creating effects)

2slam 05/27/2012 21:37

vice versa its much easier to create effects in newer clients than older

.Kinshi 05/27/2012 23:49

Its extremely easy to create custom skills, I had no idea people though it was hard >.<

This.
It's not exactly rocket science to figure out what you need in which files to create a new skill.

Korvacs 05/28/2012 10:56

This thread implys that its never been possible to create custom skills, but they have been around for years lol

Many people have claimed to be it's impossible to make complete new skills, so I thought i'd kinda, well, show it off xD

No it's nothing special, but it's pretty damn awesome.

But yeah, For anyone who said you have to edit .dbc files *yawn*

Because most people weren't able to read the MagicType and to know the meaning of the fields. Because when the MagicType became encrypted, TQ added not long after the DBC files and most people weren't able to edit them.

Adding a completly new skill is really easy. I don't find anything awesome in it. I'm just disheartened to see that nobody really did that before...

BTW. AzureShield on a 5017 client:

So what if it's easy or not? Nobody does it and that's the point of the thread.
