Depending on the item level, type and stats the required argates can vary dramatically. Basically you're looking at anything up to 20 copper, 40 silver and 10 gold. Talismans need to be used from +4 upwards normally. You'll also want about 5 of the actual item you wish to argate.

Argating fee us normally around 30-40m from most players. You'll likely have the same chance as them though :P

Of course, it might work first time and you'll get to retain a bunch of argates, on the other hand it might take double the above amounts to make one +7.

If you're paying dils, just buy the +7 items from stores if you're worried about losing so many argates or dont like to take a risk.
