game name contest
 

The rumors are true!
I am going to release a new game, which is kinda like kal (just waaay better).
I still haven't found a name yet, so i'm asking for your help!
What i want is an (preferable asian-)historic name, which fits to games like kal and shouldn't sound futuristic.
I thought about using zenonline because of zen-master and it's nice sounding nickname: "zeno", which is also important for me.

I can offer expensive kal-stuff / items for my game and an exclusive alpha/beta key for the winner.

I forgot to say, that i prefer short names!
So ryu is my favorite atm.

I just modded the kalclient btw, so there could be a connection between emok island dragons and ryu =)

feature list comes next week or so. currently working on w a s d walk ;)

Ryuonline.com is already taken by someone but ryugame.com is available. The correct translation would be 'ryuu' instead of 'ryu' but the double 'u' looks weird I think. :-)

But if you want to use the correct name and domain it have to be 'ryuuonline.com' which is available.

idk got quite more ideas but iam still to noobish to really understand what you want :D

You want a name that has meaning in it and that can describe the game so if you talking about a game similar to Kal then you need a name that can stand out and describe it to say Sun Tzu wouldn't work as people would think of a Strategic game.

Depends what type of Asian feel if your talking Asian then your mainly on about Chinese/Japanese and not Koraen

A few names would be

Bushido - "Meaning the way of the warrior" or down them lines which would some up a Kal time game.

Shizoku - "Which means the warrior families" which most likely would fit it perfectly seeing you can nickname it Shizo and the address Shizoku-Online is free

it would fit perfectly seeing everyone in Kal kind of story are family people fighting against evil so to name it Shizoku IMO would fit it.

Wie wärs mit Laozi ("Der Alte Meister")(Ein Author aus dem Jahre 4 v. Chr. der das Daodejing geschrieben hat (Eine der 3 Lehren neben dem Buddhismus und dem Konfuzianismus) aus dem Daoismus ableitung aus der Asiatischen Dämonologi weil Kal sich ja sehr intensiev mit Dämonen beschäftigt.

der name an sich sollte meiner meinung nach eher möglichst kurz und prägnant sein (3 buchstaben wären vermutlich am besten), damit man ihn leicht in erinnerung behält...danach eventuell noch ein online dranhängen (wie bei kalonline)...und als kurzform sagt man dann halt einfach nur den namen (beispielsweise kal).

wie wärs mit han-online? abkürzung wäre dann han oder hano...

i think ur wrong cause as u can see there is still a big "Community" in the Kal Pserver scene and when he is going to open his Server with the Newest Files...this means Thief, PvP systems and all that stuff he will take all this players into 1 server and as we all know u can get much money with "Donation" for your server if u know how :D:D

i had/still have full access to many publishers like gamescampus/galanet/nexon/sonov/zemiinc

but their monitoring systems were just too fucking high and there are like 100 chinese botting companies that provoke inflation. so it's impossible to sell stuff there.

besides, i am not releasing this game for financial reasons. it will be completely free! no kalcash / no donations! and i modded the pvp system, because lvl balancing sucked so hard and there wasn't even an instanced anytime pvp system..

thanks for all the good name suggestions, but my fav. is still ryuu!
names like shizoku are also nice but we all know that it took years for the people to spell naraeha correctly. every second request was like 'do you have geons on nareha?!?'. must be hard to remember shizoku then xD and the relation to schizophrenia kinda sux :D
i also might get into trouble when people prefer to say ryu instead of ryuu, but google should usually forward it to ryuu..

ich find es is zu "unleserlich" wenn da leute erst 20 sekunden lang hinschauen müssen um es vollends zu begreifen wird der name nich so in errinerrung bleiben weil viele nach 3 sek keinen bock mehr haben...

ich find es so recht "standard" aber kann ja später noch mehrere kleine skizzen schnell malen^^

aber finde sonst der drache is mir gut gelungen =P
