[Release] Dekaron Non-update launcher
 

Hi.

I wrote a small application with Microsoft Visual C++ to launch Dekaron without updating the client. This is good for people who don't want to:

1) Update their client
2) Use any command-line arguments to launch dekaron.exe
3) Modify the dekaron.exe binary to run it without a launcher.

If this doesn't work on some Dekaron please send me the launcher.exe and dekaron.exe and I'll update this.

You have to put this to the dekaron root folder. Ex. C:\Program Files\Dekaron\ .

Please also post any bugs you find to this thread, don't start any new threads.

Tested with 2moons, Dekaron SEA and Eternia Dekaron. Worked well on all three.

ok so what is the use if the client dun need to be update? it's not a unpacked client. so dun really help much in using hacks. can u come out with a unpack client tat we dun need to update???

Well people have their own reasons why not to update the client all the time. The most disturbing thing is that if you have unpacked the dekaron.exe and wont rename it, the launcher.exe will overwrite the unpacked exe with the default one. And still if you change the name of the exe, without any launcher-bypassers, the dekaron.exe will call the launcher.exe and the launcher will call the default dekaron.exe .

There may be more reasons but everyone chooses for themselves if this can be useful to them.

I think your Psychic now... I was thinking about this after the new client didn't do anything except have the new logo. Except I have no skills in scripting from scratch...

Do you mean which arguments my launcher is using? Or do you mean what is a commandline-argument?

I'm currently writing a loginserver in C# for Dekaron, but the stupid chinese launchers annoy me, so I'd like to write a small app that redirects Dekaron to localhost =)

Ok nice, my non-update launcher is using atm m_cher and sel0. I haven't found any others so far but if I will, then I'll update this :).

Isn't it possible to reverse engineer the GetStartupinfoA, and check where it pushes the value into the winsock WSAConnect to get the IP?

I don't know, never done anything with IP addresses or with Winsock :).

lol i use IP addresses to trace back where do ppl i hate or annoy me live and freak them out by telling them theyr address :D
