I found this tool as well, if you place the executable files in your Final Fantasy 11 folder, it pulls up files, and displays the icons for them, and there's a little information. It's all in Japanese though, and I don't have the language pack to translate it. It seems like this may be a big help, since it lists all of the new items, and spells and the stats. This was originally what I was trying to find, to see if it listed the ModelID#'s.

Also, I just recompiled at my friend's house, with r1430 and the 2 times I tried, I got the same version as "SpiraXI." I used the same scripts and database. As far as I know, the revision is fine, it's the scripts that aren't working. Replace them with Spira scripts and it should work fine, with the database (even though the database is funky with some errors when it's loaded from scratch) I haven't tried Tom_Neverwinter's updated database stuff, that may fix the zonesettings012110 and zonesettings020210 problems i keep having.

If you just replace the scripts folder in the .rar of the 1430SVN with the ones from Spira'sSVN so many people probably wouldn't be having problems when compiling. I'm gonna mess with Tom's databases a little now, and see what works. It's gonna be a long weekend :)

Codiddle 09/04/2010 16:16

I was also wanting to know if it would be possible to use a .lua generator to add spells to mobs. I guess you would have to change the source code to do that, but I think that it'd be easier for those of us who don't know how to script yet. I have a program that does it, it's for ArcEmu wow emulator, but if anyone's interested, I'll upload that. It's a simple program to make simple script files for casting spells for trash mobs. Or if anyone knows how to build a similar program that would work with pxi, that'd be awesome. Seeing as there's not 1 mob that casts spells. I don't have the source code for this program, it's just a small exe file.

lionhart3001 09/04/2010 18:23

thanks codiddle, please can you upload your lua generator?

noob question, but, can someone tell me how to update the db I'm using without wiping things like accounts and characters?

hi, use codi's spiraxi (located on a previous post) and make sure you copied your data folder from your ffxi folder to pol folder.

mrsnipes 09/04/2010 23:04

any1 here know how to make it a public server for u and ur friends because i tried changing the server ip and using hamachi and things didnt work out.

joeis78 09/04/2010 23:34

My friend can login, but then it says ffxi not found! even though mxi is in his ffxi folder o-o

Codiddle 09/05/2010 02:01

i think that happened to me. i tried to copy over the playonline folder without installing it, and it seems like it did that. you gotta install it though, from discs or mount an iso.

if that is what's wrong, once it is installed, you can copy over the Final Fantasy XI folder after it's installed and it'll replace all of the files that needed updated and then to update it to the newest version it'll take maybe 45 minutes rather than 6 hours. I have a copy of the Final Fantasy XI updated folder in a folder seperate from the game, in case I have to uninstall it, i won't have to sit through that update again.

I made an updated Spira repack, but it has your executable in it instead Lionhart. I was going to change the name of it to Project XI 0.6.5, but I wanted to make sure that would be ok first.

thanks! this is problem! oddly enough, when he checks files, it finds no errors, even though we replaced all the files with the updated ones...so its only like 33k files when it should be 35k, were reinstalling now, hopefully this time it'll fully update.

carry on, feel free to rename it, im still in the process of reading through the c++ code... trying to work out the mechanics such as engage, disengage... since these both work i wanna fix the switch target to see if i can do it. fingers crossed :)

cheribulm 09/05/2010 02:34

I Just wanted to say THANK YOU for everyones hard work to keeping this alive. The server is so nice! I can see why SE nuked it. They must have known how close this is to the real thing.

Codiddle 09/05/2010 18:15

You da man Lionhart. I got my fingers crossed. Joeis78, when you reinstall FFXI and copy over the files, and FFXI doesn't show up in the list, just run ffxiupdate.bat, and it'll break 2 files. once the file is broken, (I believe it's VTables), it'll show up in the playonline list when you hit check files. I still haven't tried to use the files in the update folder to see how those work. Thanks Lionhart, I wish there were more C++ peeps that could help you. I'm trying to find time to learn a little, but with work, school, and g/f there's just no way. I would get a lot more done if I spent less time on this forum lol, I just have a lot of hope for this. I'll post updated repack when I go through it all and make sure it's all in order.

joeis78 09/05/2010 19:30

He used all the files from the same "Update" folder as me, FFXI updates and both of ours have the same amount of files/ same version. MXI is just still saying FFXI not found!

Thanks! update went smooth, but after he logs in with MXI 9 nothing happens still :\

Codiddle 09/06/2010 02:31

um... it maybe that mXI is faulty. Have you tried to run 0.7.1 mXI yet? Oh I know what's wrong I bet. Run it as administrator before you try mXI 0.7.1. If that doesn't fix it, then try the other :) Hope that's what is wrong.

If they're running Windows 7, or Windows Vista, running it as administrator is a must.

this is so weird, i got a windows 7 32 bit laptop and i did all that and it worked, did the same thing on my friends PC, still nothing happens after login.

this is what we did on his PC:

cracked files > updated > ran mXI 0.7.1 as admin > logged in >wait forever.

Codiddle 09/06/2010 19:39

hell man i donno... i'm outta ideas. you seem like you know what you're doing, especially if you're already doing it on a different pc. i did install it on a friend's pc too and he had winxp but he had no ethernet driver, so the little LAN thing wasn't in Network Connections. This became a problem because I couldn't use the Localhost 127.0.0.1 so I just formatted his HDD to Windows 7. I'm not saying you should format, especially if it's just a problem with mXI, but there maybe a different problem causing it not to run. Although, I can't think of anything that would keep mXI from running, other than it not being ran as administrator. If you installed ffxi, broke it, updated, loaded the server, loaded the spiraxi or lionhartxi, and ran mxi. I had read you needed to run Final Fantasy XI Config and change it to "Start in Windowed Mode," but that's really the last thing I can possibly think of.

Haha yeah we already decided on formatting, hopefully this will work, if not, it must just be something hardware related as you said, and we will giving up on his PC, especially since we got in-game with 4 other PC's seamlessly. Thanks for all your ideas though, too bad it came down to this but no biggy.

I'll post the results.

lionhart3001 09/07/2010 09:59

i installed wotg to see if that fixed the problem with missions quests not loading.. maybe some data was missing causing it to "download data..." constantly... this screwed up my ffxi.... so i reinstalled... the update have been going for 12 hours and its only done 20%!!! anyone know whats going on??

i did it about a week or 2 ago and it took about 6 hours. ( i wouldnt recommend installing wotg lol)

update:
never mind i did it in work and it was fine... so its a problem in my house.

Codiddle 09/07/2010 23:29

i was gonna say, that sucks!!! lol. glad it worked itself out.

joeis78 09/08/2010 02:50

reformatting worked! some things about computers i will just never understand....

Drakong 09/08/2010 14:04

*Hey guys, I being reading up on what you guys been doing lately. I am just so new to this even though I got it to work. I just want to know if I had miss out on any new version?

*I would prefer the version PXI 6.4 but does not have job traits. If only the version SpiraXI that have job traits can combine to this version would be sweet!

*Anyways, thanks for the hard work guys...

Codiddle 09/08/2010 18:31

I wouldn't know how to do that. There are people working on it, however. Just be patient, and in the meantime maybe learn some C++ and/or lua so you can help too? :D If you know someone who knows how to code, tellem to visit this forum. I've been trying to do that as much as possible, since I don't know jack about it.

Personally, I couldn't stand 0.6.4. I wanted Haste and Refresh, I didn't really care about the elemental nukes. The roaming mobs were about the only good thing about that version, and when you ran up to hit one of the mobs, it'd run into the wall so you couldn't target it most of the time. I can only assume they were in the process of fixing that, and that's why mobs don't roam in the newer version. But, I hardly even play now, I just want it to work like it should. Without quests, or missions, there's really not all that much to do anyway. Except run around mindlessly hacking and slashing at mobs for no good reason :) I'm just sayin'

landis73 09/08/2010 19:55

Not sure if I have the wrong database, but mnk is not attacking two handed, even with the changed exe. Also, the attack speed is too fast. At lvl 1 mnk has a delay of 480 (240 per fist). 180 delay is 3 seconds.

With possible traits not working, that would obviously affect the rate, in which case you can ignore my statement above.

Other strange elements is I have all the current expansions, but the front page is only showing the crystalline prophecy as the current one, which is incorrect. Not sure how to solve this. I realize not all things are working at this point. Just figuring that if I have anything I can fix on my own, I'm going to try to do so.

Not sure if anyone is aware, but last I knew before the project shut down, they were capturing packets from the actual game on mob locations and names (the current .dat files in the scripts). Updates usually break them. So if you have mobs with wrong names, etc. While running around, those files are the ones that need updated.

Also found some commands, if any did not have them, listed here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

cheribulm 09/08/2010 19:57

Am I correct that pet jobs are broken? I do not see any scripts for anything that has to do with the pet jobs.
I see the data base has all the info to support it.
Another question, my server is flooding. cannot open scripts/globals/effects/Reraise.lua , Divine_Veil.lua , Subtle_Blow.lua .....
Are these just mission scripts as well? if so when the action is done in the game is it just an empty motion without any real effect?
Thank

Codiddle 09/08/2010 21:38

that list of gm commands is outdated. there are more it doesn't mention, and some of those cause crashes. i haven't tried them all though. the flooding i think is caused because it's trying to pull a lua file that is not there. i mean, if it says it can't find a file in that location, look for it. I was able to copy the information from Asuran_Fists.lua and paste it to a new file I made called Final_Heaven.lua and it actually did damage. I know the info isn't right, but it does do damage. the crystalline prophecy seems right with whatever items are in the database that i'm using. it goes up to Nuevo Coselete (sp?), Mirke Wardecors, etc... which were the body pieces added with that expansion. I'm not sure why it is this way, I just know what I've seen. h2h works on my database, maybe not with the correct delay but i'm sure that information you provided will become useful :)

landis73 09/08/2010 22:31

Sorry about the bad information then, I'll work to test before listing the information regarding the commands.

The mnk material in question regarding delays and the timing I quoted was listed by others on two seperate sites.

For reference, sites are:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Which lists the 480 without trait and 400 delay at lvl 1 with trait.

and

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Which notes the relation of the 3 to 180 I mentioned.

I know from the project forum it was mentioned that the progression of 6.4 to 6.5 was to add elemental effects which were not working in 6.4 (supposedly not was coded in the main exe). This includes food, berserk, status spells, counterstance, or any that would add an elemental attribute.

Also, is there a way to get the 9.0RC1 working in full screen, rather than window? Changing the option from 1 to 0 regarding the windower setting for me causes the client to crash on start. The option in init text regarding game resize seems to do nothing, unless I'm misunderstanding the intention of the option, or there is a key command to cause it to work.

I suppose I should also mention that on the spiraxi I'm getting 3 transport errors: "Transports not found! Check NPC Tables!" on start. Not sure how to fix.

landis73 09/08/2010 22:40

I suppose I should clarify regarding the expansion error I mentioned earlier. In the normal SE game I've got all expansions up to and including visions of abbesea (or however it is spelled) installed. But in the spiraxi and client, I'm only getting up to and including the crystalline prophecy listed on the character select screen... not sure why.

lionhart3001 09/08/2010 23:07

i believe the emu may have been built before those updates which may be why your having trouble....

does anyone else recieve packet overflow errors on their PXI console?

this only happens on a toon with lots of items.....

Codiddle 09/09/2010 00:15

I was able to go change the information in FFXI Config so that it was not running in windowed mode, I also set the resolution to my screen resolution which is 1280/800. I went into the Windower's Config.ini file and changed it from 800/600 to 1280/800 and set the Windower Version to 0 No Windower, and that worked. I'm not really sure about the GM Commands either. I tested @mobani or whatever and that was what kept crashing me. I'm not sure if it was the number I was using. I'll go try it out again. @mobani 0x03 makes me crash, and it's supposed to kill whatever npc i'm targetting instantly. It's not crashing my game anymore... but I cannot move after I type one, until I type @zone ## to reload the zone. I was able to use @animation 2432, I think it made me fish, or @animation 0x03 makes you die. However, @mobani doesn't seem to do anything. I keep getting unknown command errors. @zoneR seems to work, I was doing it wrong before. I thought you just typed @zoneR to reload the zone you're in, but I see you gotta add the zone's hexadecimal ID#. I didn't try the others. Maybe @mobani works, I maybe just doing it wrong.

Codiddle 09/09/2010 00:18

I have gotten them, I didn't know why. It seems to be when I have a lot of items too. I also noticed if you change that inventory number to above 50, you get all kinda of problems. I changed it in the database, but I think it happens if you change it in settings.lua too. You can't access your inventory, when you unequip armor, you can't reequip it, and you end up having to just delete that character because it just messes it up so bad.

usagi4141 09/09/2010 02:01

I can't seem to download the FFXI Lives258 FFXI Lives258.zip from mediafire it has a password

landis73 09/09/2010 03:27

I could have told you about the item cap. Check the settings.lua file in the scripts.

Edit: Oops. My bad, misread the statement and you had done that. My error.

Blaze1011 09/09/2010 14:43

And please, im quite a noob at these things so if possible, can you make it like a 'FFXI for dummies' if u know wat i mean. Or if someone has a server up and running that i can join, can you post the details and instructions on how to join please?

Thanks :)

altanaffxi 09/09/2010 22:59

I've got off-hand attacks working for any job, just cleaning up the coding for now. As far as the "monk is attacking too slow" issue you may be getting if you fixed the combat system, you'll need to check if your scripts are working (I believe the latest system overhauled traits from the DB to Lua scripts) and then check the formula in the EXE. Remember the "Martial Arts" trait works in tiers. I've been busy lately but I'll see if I can get anything polished off for you guys.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found the mod list I was looking for. It was in plain sight.
