What's worse: cheating in online games, or being so scared of the cheaters that you come here to flame them instead of moving on with the non-existant life you wish you had?

Well, made a simple COF trainer today and was not auto-banned after a few hours of play. Obviously, manual detection (being caught by a CSR) is purely user error, so it seems that individuals that make and update their own trainer, and don&#39;t do anything stupid, should be in the clear. See the stickies for how to make a trainer of your own.

^ That seems to be correct. My COF, AB and stamina trainer is thus far undetected (about 2 weeks straight of use).

Well my Ultimate Hud is working fine. Just dont release your stuff and you&#39;ll be fine. There are tons of methods you can use to create a hack, like accessing different functions, different codecaves. They can only add things they know about to their cheat detection. It&#39;s a very poor implementation.

So how do you know which lines of code are checked by the server for cheat detection? I know that sticking your modified code in a code cave can shield most of your changes, but what about your jump value?

For example, if I do the COF hack I need to put a jump value in the place of the function that edits the cof value, and stick that same function followed by my modifier after it, and a jump back to the line after the original. Where would the detection take place in that series?

Thanks&#33;

Well check out what is calling the function that does the "cof thing" and just dont let it call the "cof function" - let it call your own codecave instead.

Itburnz- (thanks for answering my post&#33

Right, if it calls the code cave to change the variable to a set value, it&#39;s being called instead of the original "cof function." What I&#39;m not clear on (sorry if I&#39;m just stupid and didn&#39;t understand your reply) is how that would avoid detection. Won&#39;t the anti-cheat measures being used detect that added jump that we put in to bypass the original "cof function"?

So if we go from this:

<some code>
<cof funct>
<other>
<code>

to this:
jmp <code cave location>
Nop
<other>
<code>

wouldn&#39;t the jmp/nop portion get detected?

From what I can see Sony&#39;s cheat protection is so lame that I can OVERWRITE yes OVERWRITE the orginal code and they dont even detect it&#33;

It&#39;s like this. There is only one rule to over writing which is MAKE SURE NO NOP&#39;S ARE MADE&#33; To prevent this when you hit "Space" uncheck "Fill with NOP&#39;S". My jmp gate looks like this

Before
Code:
008FA13C |. 8B4E 20      MOV ECX,DWORD PTR DS&#58;&#91;ESI+20&#93;
008FA13F |. 8986 98010000   MOV DWORD PTR DS&#58;&#91;ESI+198&#93;,EAX
008FA145 |. 8D45 F4      LEA EAX,DWORD PTR SS&#58;&#91;EBP-C&#93;
After jmp gt
Code:
008FA13C   E9 85 1E 28 00   JMP planetsi.00B7BFC6 &#40;dont worry CC value is fake&#41;
008FA13F |.    push edx
008FA145 |.       test XOR
Bascally it overwrites orginal code but with out any NOP&#39;S so cheat protection doesnt eat you.

Why is a NOP such a big deal to cheat protection? Just extra changed code, or no?

Thanks for answering all my questions guys- this is a lot of fun&#33; I don&#39;t really anticipate my using &#39;em, but it&#39;s a lot of fun trying to crack

If cheat protection didnt search for and stop NOPs then we wouldnt have to make code caves&#33; We wouldnt even need to use OllyDBG&#33; Hacking would be as easy as breathing.

CO Cheat Detection

How does CO find cheats? Does it have some sort of anti-cheat when you load the exe (kinda like when you connect to a VAC server on CS). I thought the only way to find was if someone recorded you, or a error when you jump&drop, or scroll&drop and get sent to BotJail...
