Post NTGManager - NosTale Geometry Manager


Hi, I would like to post something that
I have been developing since early this
summer and saddly I dropped due to lack
of time or reasons to do it because now
Cryless released the src of his program
and more pretty cool ones appeared.

This tool allows to preview, export and
convert all 3d meshes to 3d Obj. I made
it in C++ using Win32API, OpenGL and 3d
party libs for working with images.
It works with recent and old nostale vs
allowing to preview and export all objs

Depending on the version you use it may
need some changes to the textures:

+Nostale 2006 - Change the texture type
to Old format from settings for preview
and exports.

+Nostale 2008->onwards - Open the files
with New format in settings.

I'm posting it just in case it could be
useful somehow for anybody here.
Otherwise it will remain unused until I
accidentally delete it.

How to use it:
  1. Open the executable
  2. Click File>Open
  3. Select the NStg(e)
  4. Wait for the load to complete
  5. Navigate through the list



Known Issues:
  • Camera translations are a bit broken
  • Some Animations lack interpolated frames
  • Some eff textures are missing because they are defined elsewhere in the client
  • May crash with some BIG models



VirusTotal:
Virus detections: 2/61
It's up to you to give it a try or not

I think you need some more posts idk lol.
Dec 2010 should be old enough.


Too sad that you didn't implement any import method but nice anyway. Maybe you can share information with @

HI! Imports are quite easy to make at least if coming from .obj since they don't have animations and does not need to be processed previously.
The reason I left this out is because I focused more on animations since they're a little hard to get right and my main idea was to use other import/export formats that support matrix transformations like collada and fbx.

Anyway I think that OnexExplorer already allows that.


PD: Seems like 50 is the min for galleries HAHA

Would be nice to export .png file of current view with transparent backgroud

I tried with .obj export but this is not exatcly what I wanted :<

Hi krychu132,
Sadly I'm not planning doing changes to the tool atm since I have no time to spend on it.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion about exporting png. If I get some free time in the future I'll provably improve it.
Also sorry for the .obg export... seems like I totally forgot to fix the models before saving them

When tanking, if you want to reduce/nullify the fall damage, tank Moam by the door right behind him. Make sure the tank has his back to the wall. This makes the tank hit the lip on the door causign relatively no fall damage.
