Kruul wanders all over the place, but while he is in Azshara he can get stuck on a ruin where all the Nagas are. You can then pull his adds away one at a time and kill them for the blues. No need for 40 people. I killed the adds with a group of 6.
I don't know how he got stuck, but if you see Kruul in Azshara and want to try messing with him in this area, go for it.
