U should think about the 3700 or 3800 if we talk about rendering and not gaming, instead of the Intel
You benefit significantly more from more cores than from better SCP.
Here is a great test
If we talk about applications(Streaming,Rendering etc), you should always prefer an AMD Processor.
So ofc a i7 11700k is better than 3700x especially overclocked but u have to keep in mind u need a way more expensive mainboard, more power usage that leads to better PSU and better airflow + cooler.
u also get a Ryzen 3900x for the same price, which completely outclass the 11700k.
watchout :
So my choices would be 3700 for a small upgrade, 3900, 5900x for huge difference.
Keep in mind for the 3900 and 5900 u need a solid Mainboard
PS: If u are gaming as well is 5600x a good balance between gaming and rendering. Just look at the charts
