APB is coming to an end

Many people predicted it and some people believed in a wonder, but now its official: The All Points Bulletin servers will be closed.

There are two sources about this shutdown news

The first is this text that displays on the official APB forums

APB has been a fantastic journey, but unfortunately that journey has come to a premature end. Today we are sad to announce that despite everyone's best efforts to keep the service running; APB is coming to a close. It's been a pleasure working on APB and with all its players. Together we were building an absolutely amazing game, and for that, we thank you. You guys are awesome! From all of the Realtime World staff we thank you for your continued support. The servers are still up, so join the party and say goodbye!

the second is a twitter statement of "Ben 'APBMonkey' Bateman" who thanks all players.

APB developer Realtime Worlds announced insolvency. There are rumours about an unknown US company buying the studio.

It seems that Epic Games (Unreal, Gears of War) is going to buy the studio and pursue APB.

Becouse it could not compete with other already known MMO's that have gone F2P like Everquest and Lord of the Rings online, or even Vindictus. And no one really wanted to pay for APB couse of that.

Because i thought it was the fact their payment system sucked ***, who the hell wants to pay for a game and then have to pay per facking hour they are in game when they can just buy GTA and play/kill hookers all day? and WTF did they think would happen when a bunch of tooled up crims face raped the noobies fresh out of the safe zone?

Well it was that and didn't RTW blow retardo amounts of cash over the 5 years of development . . . .$105,000,000.00 anyone?

I dont think its probally the end. They idea that they had like superskunk said about the payment system was really bad. One reason aftter beta why i never bought it. Maby they learned a lessson.

Because you only had an option to do it, you could also pay a monthly fee, if you almost never had time to play, you could easily save on this.
And il blaim the failure on the writers, they compeard it to an MMORPG, something it really wasent.

If it were, you wouldent be able to kill a max lvl with a lvl 1.
