In the still niche world of virtual reality, Sony is creating quite a buzz with a new device that isn't revolutionary but remains at the cutting edge of technology. Its PSVR 2, which has already been revealed through a partial datasheet and a few visuals, is not yet finished making news. Today, Sony tells us a little more about the games that will accompany the machine at its release.
Tim Turi, a content communications specialist at PlayStation, describes his experience after playing a handful of games that are among the most anticipated by gamers. These include Horizon Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge - Enhanced Edition.
Not simple portages
First of all, he tells us that Horizon Call of the Mountain will not be centered on the character of Aloy, unlike the main games of the saga. The spin-off will focus on Ryas, "a disgraced shadow Carja who finds himself left to fend for himself in the wilderness and must learn to defend himself". The title promises us an experience faithful to the opuses we already know and love, with an emphasis on immersion.
This will also be the case for Resident Evil Village, which will take all the basics of the original game with even more immersive features. To do this, the PSVR 2 Sense controllers should play their role perfectly thanks to the adaptive triggers and especially the haptic feedback. Features that will also be taken into account in the other games as Tim Turi points out so well.
PSVR 2 at Tokyo Game Show and soon in stores
For a real hands-on experience, fans of the brand will have no choice but to go to the Tokyo Game Show this week as the machine will be present and usable on site as a preview. Sony is showing off the PSVR 2 ahead of its official release next spring. We don't know the exact date yet, but we do know that about 20 games will be playable from the moment of its release and that many more will arrive along the way.
