This Nintendo Direct was long overdue, but better late than never, especially after such a presentation. This year, the summer conferences were done in dribs and drabs, with many of them going on until September. This is notably the case for the Kyoto firm, which took its time before giving news of its end-of-year program. After forty minutes of presentation, Switch players now know what kind of food they'll be eating in the coming months, and the buffet is promising!
From Zelda, Kirby, Pikmin and even new licenses, this direct has put the package with more than twenty announcements, so much so that Nintendo's calendar is going to be quite busy. To avoid getting lost in this torrent of new titles, we've put together a summary of the news you absolutely mustn't miss!
Fire Emblem Engage
The presentation started strong with the announcement of a new episode of the Fire Emblem strategy game franchise. Unluckily for Nintendo, this new title was leaked last June. All the leaker's claims have been confirmed in a great trailer: this episode takes a softer anime-style art direction and offers a story that honors the great heroes of the license. It will be possible to summon iconic characters such as Marth thanks to rings that must be recovered from the claws of our enemies. The appointment on the battlefield is given for January 20, 2023.
Pikmin 4
Fans of Olimar and the little alien plants have had the joy of discovering the first extracts of Pikmin 4, the long-awaited sequel of the adorable franchise. After an excellent episode 3 on Wii U, the world of Pikmin seems to be going in a new direction with an ambitious new opus! A few images of the game have been shown without revealing the gameplay, but a screenshot reveals a new third-person view that gives the world of Pikmin a very big feel. The little creatures will make their return in 2023.
Master Detective Archives Raincode
It's a complicated name for a game that's sure to be a hit. The teams behind Danganronpa are back to bring their genius to a new investigation game that already looks irresistible. The famous graphic style of the Danganronpa franchise and the music of Masafumi Takada: everything is there for a dark atmosphere. Yuma, a young detective with amnesia, will have to solve investigations with a ghost named Shinigami who haunts him since they formed a pact. We will have to wait until the spring of 2023 to discover these adventures.
Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kirby, the little pink ball will have the right to a remake of one of his adventures. It's a Wii episode that will be sublimated in Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe. New powers and new mini-games are waiting for the players in this new version scheduled for February 24, 2023.
The Legend of Zelda : Tears of the Kingdom
It's the big announcement everyone has been waiting for, and it's with this news that Nintendo closed its presentation. The sequel to Breath of the Wild finally has its title and release date. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will land on Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023. Only eight more months to discover the plains and skies of Hyrule in this new opus that looks massive. The few new gameplay extracts send a dream! However, we regret the absence of the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD ports that were rumored to be coming in the last few days.
