There is good news for all loyal Nintendo lovers among you! For all of you who already participate in Nintendo's reward program, this may soon pay off. As Nintendo recently announced, there should soon be a way to spend your Gold Points, earned in the reward program, in the Nintendo Switch eShop.

My Nintendo is the magic word here. This rewards system has been available since 2016 and, rewards you for game achievements or shop purchases with virtual currency, the Gold Points. Until now they were rather useless or better said, they had no specific function. Nintendo is willing to change this now. With Nintendo's newest console, they also want to change the whole Gold Point system.
This new system should be released mid-March this year. Currently, it looks like every golden star is worth about one cent, so if you have 10000, you can already buy something worth 10€ in Nintendo's eShop. If you want to buy a more expensive game, you can even use your stars to pay part of the games price and pay the rest of it with any other payment method. Amazingly, even for these purchases, you get 5% of the spend Gold Points or money, as Gold Points, back through My Nintendo. If you have a lot of these points, you should use them soon, as they expire after one year!
