No Man's Sky: "Pathfinder" Update released!

Hello Games is coming back this week. After not hearing from the developer studio for a long time, they announced the next update, which has now been released and includes a vehicle for exploring planets. Also, we may expect some hotfixes to fix bugs, as well as the insurance that will continue to follow updates.

In addition to the Exocraft vehicle, which allows even racy races to be driven, there is now the photo mode, with which you can take the most beautiful pictures of the environment or space with. Added to this is the permadeath mode. In this game mode the consequences of dying are particularly hard.

Added to this are some graphical improvements. For example, Hello Games has refined the rendering of water surfaces, changed the user interface and adjusted the base construction. Added various bug fixes. At the end of the article you will find the full patch notes for Patch 1.2 "Path Finder".

After all, the game, with Sean Murray, has been badly criticized by Hello Games. After the release followed a long radio still, until several weeks the "Foundation" update was released from nowhere. According to Hello Games the "launching" for future extensions will be laid out. So far, they have kept their promise, but there will still be a lot of frustration among the former fans and customers, who want a lot of functions, which have been announced in interviews and trailers.

o More detailed rain system, including room dependent and indoor window rain

o Traders no longer drop Copper or Iron
o Reduced camera shake whilst taking hits in space combat
o Reduced pirate damage in survival mode
o Reduced damage on ship laser
o Tweaked ship exit animations to improve player placement

o Added damage and resource numbers in combat and when mining, toggleable in the Options menu
o Allow multiple weapon types on the multitool
o Free weapons and ships now have broken slots
o Recruit NPCs have more descriptive names
o Fixed holes appearing in high detail terrain regions
o Made player respawn positioning more robust
o Introduced new growable plant type
o Fixed slow memory leak in material effects
o Removed several minor memory leaks on warp
o Boosted shield recharge rate whilst in caves slightly
o BoltCaster Rate of Fire and Laser Mining Speed upgrades are now known from start. Tweaked build requirements so that both are possible to build on player's first planet
o Drones now drop small amount of zinc on destruction
o Reduced amount of platinum from depots
o Fixed Vy'Keen depots dropping titanium instead of platinum
o Improved balance of hazards on Scorched and Frozen planets
o Reworked NPC secondary interactions to give you standing in exchange for offerings
o Reduced the amount of tech given by NPCs. In most cases they will now reward tech fragments instead of blueprints
o Reduced the amount of tech available for NPC reward
o Fixed projectiles shooting through certain unmineable substances
o Adjusted space stations to minimise cases where NPCs intersect with the environment
o Fixed issue where the suit upgrade chamber would occasionally disappear

o Fixed NPC terminals and ladders being removed from the central room of bases after the player leaves
o Moved snap points for the glass corridor to be correctly grid aligned
o Galactic Terminals now have consistent pricing, regardless of where in a base they are added
o Fixed plants not being removed after removing the planter below them
o Deleting a room now refunds not only the room itself, but also its contents
o Fixed some plants and rocks not being removed when placing down a base building part
o Fixed the colour of the base terminal light occasionally resetting to red
o Terminals no longer can be build over windows in the central room
o Fixed base building colours becoming corrupt under specific circumstances
o Fixed some NPC missions counting the number of parts in your base incorrectly
o Fixed landing pad not snapping correctly to some parts
o Fixed issues where resource harvester would fail to gather resources
o Left mouse button and right trigger can now be used to build
o Fixed various precision problems with building in freighters
o Fixed some cases where grenades would fail to edit the terrain
o Organised parts in the base building menu to be more intuitive

o Added animation within the Quick Menu
o Changed the hyperdrive stat to be measured in Light Years
o Opening the menu will now return to the last page you viewed
o Added a new Tech stat section to the Tech info popup
o Improved mouse smoothing
o Improved mouse sensitivity
o Clearer and more detailed multitool, ship and freighter comparison screen
o Fixed flickering transition between Inventory and Options Menu pages
o Reduced number of menu options requiring a button to be held rather than pressed
o Improved responsiveness of button holding
o Fixed a bug in the options menu where the title bar would flicker
o Improvements to discovery timeline UI
o Added "Set Waypoint" option to the solar system pop-up
o Improved alignment at aspect ratios other than 16:9
o Prevented player notifications showing up during credits and redeem screen
o Fixed issue whether error messages would be shown for charging and repairing before the options had been selected
o Increased icon resolutions to support play at 4k resolutions
o Fullscreen effects are now correctly displayed when entering a hazard
o Disabled the quick menu while warping between systems
o Removed obsolete Generation Detail option in settings
o Updated display of new discoveries to be clearer and more readable
o Fixed some Japanese and Russian localisation issues and text overlap
o Made cinematic black bars less frequent and obtrusive
o Made is so cinematic black bars can be dismissed
o Race standing is now displayed on the journey milestone page
o Fixed various windows occasionally appearing partially offscreen
o New visuals and backgrounds on mode select, options and inventory screens

This game progressively improved as the years went by, patch after patch it fixed its own core issues, and i think its safe to say that at this point the game has kinda redeemed itself.
