[Rumor] Blizzard's New MMO is a Next-Gen FPS

According to an inside source, French website NoFrag reported that Blizzard is working on a brand new title which will "create a game experience unlike anything done before", so a StarCraft MMOFPS is out of the question. The new IP is a Sci-Fi MMOFPS and it is not rumored Call of Duty Online. This new IP may be the secrete project that would be shown in GDC 2010.

Allegedly, each player in the game has two "lives." The first life being similar to that of Sims Online, a social/lifestyle type of thing. The other life is where the combat takes place. It sounds like what Global Agenda did.

Two years age Blizzard released a job listing looking for character and environment artists for a "Next-Gen MMO" marked "Top Secret." After two pages of speculation from forum goers, including many writing it off as probably just another World of Warcraft expansion, Blizzard community rep Drysc gave this response:

By guessing, the "inside source" maybe comes from a French company Vivendi Universal, the owner of Blizzard studio.

This should be very interesting. Leave it to Blizzard to bring on the next MMO hit, since nobody else really seems able to do so.
