Since the E3 in July it is official that the latest part of the Anno series takes place in the future like its precursor. One of the new main-features is the option to colonize the moon. Furthermore Anno 2205 is based on a new in-house graphic engine. Although distributed via publisher Ubisoft's Uplay platform the game can also be played offline, at least that is what fans are being promised. After the surprising announcement that the beta phase participation for gamers who pre-order the game has been cancelled, the German developement team Blue Byte Mainz in cooperation with Ubisoft has brought new and so far unpublished information concerning the game to the Gamescom in Cologne.
Not only can players colonize the moon in Anno 2205 but also the Arctic where they have to face frosty challenges. It can be assumed that resource gathering will be a major problem there for the settlers. More about the life in the Arctic and about naval battles too can be eyed up in a new trailer.
