Team YouPorn: Sponsor is satisfied with the performance

Persistent rumours about an upcoming participation of the pornographic video sharing website YouPorn in the eSports scene were already circulating last year. When the company confirmed said assumptions and offered itself through official channels as a sponsor, first contract negotiations with, among the rest, famous and well-known teams started. Quite a few people suspected that the Russian clan Virtus.Pro, which had merely made a name for itself in the framework of "Counter-Strike" at this particular time, would be possibly interested. As we know since December 2014, the streaming service concluded an agreement with five Spanish players - Ragabash, LoLQoP, SolmyR, Lawliet_91 and Mengue. Now these guys play under the name of Team YouPorn, shortened Team YP, and already took part in "Dota 2" events respectively tournaments. During an interview, YouPorn vice president Brad Burns commented on the team's present achievements and spoke about the decision to join the eSport business.

"From a gaming perspective [Team YP is] doing really well. They placed third at their first real tournament. From a business perspective, they are incredibly professional, and we couldn't be happier," Burns told. "We're beyond happy with our investment. We've wanted to get into the gaming industry for some time and when the opportunity presented itself we jumped on it. Since then it's been nothing short of awesome. Team YP is made up of some of the world's best players, which represents our brand well.”

Additionally, vice president Burns stated that the gaming industry expands for quite a while and becomes more and more known on account of the progress in technology. From a business point of view, one has thought that supporting an eSports team makes economically sense. If the scene's fanbase watches events, tournaments and masteries via browser, it only takes few seconds to open a new tab, said Burns.
