Cryptic confirms STO out 1st quarter of 2010

Star Trek Online, the upcoming MMORPG based on the popular science fiction universe, will be released during the first quarter of 2010, developer Cryptic has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

That means it'll be out sometime between January and March next year.

Cryptic also teased the launch of a closed beta, saying it's "just around the corner".

Unlikely A Star Trek MMO has been a long time coming, to be honest I'm surprised it took someone this long to get it done. Granted it already had 1 false start due to a developer going bust. My only concern with this is that it's Cryptic studios, Champions Online anyone? Jebus that was/is a gawdawful game, the graphics suck ****, and the game playt is the most boring thing it has ever been my mispleasure to test.

This game will have a lot to live upto, the franchise has so much to offer, however with SWtOR coming out soonish let's just hope that STO lives long, and prospers
