In the following video clip, Oskar Gabrielson, producer at EA DICE, amplifies on the new functions of the upcoming Battlelog, because with the promised comeback of the Commander Mode, which led to quite positive reactions, nothing has been done at all. Through this video, the community is said to be familiarized with the multimedia devices. For example, a situation is showcased, in which the way home from work is shown and it is explained how one is already preparing himself either for something regarding game/server queue, for some kind of modification for one of his weapon classes or for tracking one the friends' latest game events.
What is very interesting is the opportunity to use external devices for further readout of the game, hence, it is possible to use a tablet as a 2nd minimap or to use the touchscreen for commanding his/her squad colleagues. What not only might be a useful feature is the possibility to adapt his/her class during loading screen to external devices, but also the server switch is said to be more comfortable, since on the consoles one, for instance, does not have to leave the server and has begin to search for a new one anymore, instead he/she can already look for a new server in realtime while being in game with a smartphone and thus can switch the sever without delay.
The new Battlelog will be available for all Battlefield 4 supporting devices (towards the end of October for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, November for Xbox One and PlayStation 4)
