First of all we would like to shine light on one of the most discussed topics: the multi-player mode. Unfortunately, Rockstar Games provided us with very few information about this. "Expect to hear some first details soon – it’s called Grand Theft Auto Online and we’re very excited to unveil it for you sometime this summer." However, there is good news: it's said, that there is going to be tightened security against cheaters in the new GTA multi-player mode. According to statements made by Rockstar Games, they will give their best to do something about people using cheats and similar programs.
Rockstar Games withheld, alas, vehicle- and weapon-related information as well. It was merely said, that both would be customisable. Further details will be brought to you soon.
There was more information about the single-player mode. Gamers are allowed to switch between the three characters named Michael, Trevor and Franklin at any time. It's left to you, when and how often you would like to swap. All three of them lead their own separate lives. "When you’re not on a mission, you can freely switch in real-time to any of the three characters to drop in and out of their lives letting you see what they’re up to. And because they have their own schedules, you’ll never know what they might be doing – you might drop in on Michael in the middle of a family dispute, interrupt Franklin chatting up some ladies, or Trevor on the run from the law – or whatever else these guys do in their free time... How and when you switch between characters when you’re not on a mission is completely up to you", stated Rockstar Games. Some missions even force a switch to the respective character.
