Cabal II Accounts being Hacked

Coming directly from Cabal II's official boards it has come to everyone's attention the fact that plenty of users are complaining about their accounts being compromised.

These reports are appearing on daily basis since the game launched its Open Beta, this last November 14. Statistically speaking, around 6% of the threads over the game's official forums are related to hacked accounts.

Something peculiar about these attacks is that hackers have been changing the accounts' second password, which makes really hard for account owners to retrieve their information. Even there is one user who claims that 2 days after he was able to regain access to his account, it got hacked again.

This isn't anything new when it comes to ESTsoft as this sort of situation has happened in the past, with Cabal Online leaking personal data and servers being crippled by supposed hackers.

The only response ESTsoft has given states that their security system has been improved since November 28, and that they will be implementing the One Time Authentication (OTP) feature to it by January 2013.

Now, the question is, should users trust this system will work after such a significant security breach on their system on different occasions?

Well, yes there is, it is for KR only right now, and it has been on Open Beta for around a month already

I remember the huge hack wave back in Cabal Online and the publisher even tried to deny it. They blamed the players instead.

I really hope Estsoft will start to close backdoors in their game security.
