I got an error 'index was outside the bounds of the array'. It was on catching a HQ fish that was the next to last one for the weekly challenge.
I did not get an error when completing the HQ challenge.
I did not error out when completing or reaching the 'One more left till' in the NQ Challenge.
I need more info to figure out what went wrong. This error means that I'm missing a state identifier still. It should have printed it in the status. Also, what was happening at the time, were you fishing, reeling or getting a bite?

Has this happened just once or does it continue to happen?

It was error bonked in time with the 'hq catch sound'. Basically I had just finished catching the fish. It was not moochable. It did not recast. I did not see an identifier printed. I'll double check next time.

It seems to happen every time I try to mooch. I think it started with the 2.55 patch. I'm using 0.9.7 version of the bot BTW, not sure if that makes a difference. Should I try using the 0.9.6 version?
I'm guessing this whole "the fish sense something amiss" error is new because of bots?
Not sure if it's just me but if the bot is fishing for any more than like 5-10 minutes, my character loses her bait and puts away her fishing rod
It is becaues of bots, but it's not new. I can't say it's always been there, but I can say it's been there since I started fishing.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, does it actually press the mooch key and cast? Or does it fail to do anything at that point?

Not sure if it's trying to press keys, but it simply stops the bot, and if I try to start it again while it's in the "mooch for a larger catch" it automatically errors and stops again. I don't have a log right now but it threw a message along the lines of "expecting casting or fishing" I think
Hmm seem to hit the unable to parse error again, had the client open for awhile and did a few dungeons (roulette expert, coil), the one that seem to have broke it was roulette exp.
I got the error message when i first started this up, "unable to parse hotbar"
I shut down the game and started it back up with the bot running and I was fine.
For some reason you have to have it open when you enter the server, and based on the above post probably cant change servers either (i.e. going into the duty server).
1) Briefly mentioned by tichondrius255 earlier, when bait/lure is lost (either when ignoring certain tug types or when trying to hook harder-to-catch fish), the bot gets confused because it cannot cast for a few seconds after the bait/lure is lost.
2) The text box containing log info on the left doesn't like it when I try scrolling up/down.
3) If I recall correctly, StolasZagan's version allowed for the bot to be started during fishing; it just picks up when it detects a tug. Could that be implemented? Just a small quality-of-life improvement.
4) I really like the font choice and the new fish data window (where it shows you what you've caught). You've kept StolasZagan's overall feel, but it looks cleaner and more organized.
It actually seems to do the same whenever a fish gets away. Not sure if this is just on my PC but the delay between when the character recognizes the fish is gone (during which you can't cast the line) prohibits it from casting, and the bot stops instantly after it can't chuck the rod.

I'm currently trying to reproduce a lot of these issues and see if I can come up with a fix for them. Be patient, and I hope it's working well enough to keep you guys satisfied for now.

Thanks for your hard work!
Try scrolling with your mouse wheel. The scroll bar is never supposed to show up, but it does sometimes, and yeah, it gets all pissed off when you try to use it.
I might be able to make it pick up in the middle if you're already fishing. I'll see what i can do.
Thank you!
FYI guys, I'm probably going to be unavailable for the next couple of weeks or so. I'm expecting a little one, and there's lots to get done around the house, and lots of stuff the wife can't do for herself anymore.
I haven't stopped working, I've just slowed down a good bit!
Having a problem when I try to mooch
[9:35:55] Mooching to catch a bigger fish!
[9:35:57] Expected status 'Casting' or 'Fishing', but got: 'Fishing Stance'
[9:35:57] Bot stopped!
My mooch is on my 3 key, so I don't know what's wrong
Try this build and see if it solves your problem, Maple. Also, this build should allow you to start the bot while fishing, but I'm not able to get into the game and test that part right now.
Edit: Sorry, that last build was completely broken. Try this one!
Just tried, but it doesn't seem to work at all. I thought it might have been some kind of change in the FFXIV client that prevented it from connecting, but I went back to the 0.9.7 version and that still works
EDIT: Got the actual error from the log this time
[9:09:15] You got a bite!
[9:09:24] You caught a Striped Goby HQ!
[9:09:25] Mooching to catch a bigger fish!
[9:09:27] Expected status 'Casting' or 'Fishing', but got: 'Fishing Stance'
[9:09:27] Bot stopped!
Lol I can sound quite unappreciative but this thing is awesome! As always the holy grail of automation is to minimize supervision but this is definitely way better than fishing myself .

How does it work?
The bot uses static memory pointers from FFXIV to determine whether your character is currently fishing and whether your character has caught anything. If your character is not fishing then the Cast ability is pressed, and if the character is fishing but something is biting on the bait, then the Hook ability is pressed.
Both the bot and the game window can be minimized while running,...
