FFXIV Craftsman - FFXIV Tools Pack
Hello, Guize! I'd like to present you FFXIV Craftsman.
This is a large tools pack, using pixel finding algorithms. At the moment it contains:
Craftsman ( )- craftbot. (working...) Fisherman ( )- fishbot. (working...)
Runner ( )- running bot. (working...)Redresser ( )- tool for fast changing sets. (working...)
Reskiller - tool for fast changing skills (was not reworked since 1.19, can only be used for changing various skillsets inside 1 class). (semi working, under development...)
ReSeller ( )- npc items seller. (working, under development, finished at most...)
Macroman - offline macro editor. (working...)
Noter ( ) - tool, showing a tiny OnTop memo frame at upper left corner or mouse position.
Also FFXIV Craftsman makes your windowed FFXIV to run fullscreen! Just run ffxiv in windowed mode with desktop resolution then run Craftsman or go to options -> Get FF Handle -> Fullscreen.
We have a webpage (it's russian, but i will rework it to english in couple of days). Enjoy.
Direct link for updater ( )

Added Noter - tool which spawns tiny OnTop memo above your ffxiv client.
Press * on numpad to show/hide Noter.
If "Popup Noter at mousepos" in Options is checked, Noter will spawn at mouse position, else in right upper screen corner.
Tool is planned for saving info such a Market prices, logs, whispers, craft recipes and so on. Also it saves text over sessions in .txt file.

When you first published your bot it was all pixel based. When you say the bot is running in memory mode, are you implying that it can now be run in the background (both bot and game minimized)?
If so, I commend you on your progress.

Yes i made fisherman and craftsman run in tabbed mode, using memory. reseller also sells items while almost tabbed (it has to see left corner of a window to check item pixel checksum). But i still cannot get chat info. ReDresser is still a bit pain in ***, but i'm working.
I made some improvements to widgets, made subscribe option, main functions are free, while some (macro editor, noter) are for premium users. Miner and Harvester and perhaps Runner are gonna be free to.
I also plan to add multi-thread support for premium users, recast timers for bars and much more. And this will be still all-in-one pack with it's own updater and version check.
Thank you for your commend.

You're charging for a bot that ? Seems sketchy to me, perhaps everyone should start charging for "premium" advice, which memory reading certainly would be.
I don't play FFXIV anymore so I have no dog in the fight, but I'd do things differently.
Also, your fishing program must certainly have issues if you cannot read the chat log but it "works" while minimized.

>certainly have issues
The only issue is that it does not repeat fishing position when u cannot reel it with 1 jig. The solution is repeating fishing position 2 times. Most profitable fish atm (Val Caprs) does not require 50 lvl fisherman to jig it 2 times.
>You're charging for a bot
I'm not charging. This is free tools pack, while some features are premium.
Me and my designer are spending 2-3 hours per day to develop this project, so donating $2 per month for making it work with 2+ windows or macro editor is not even a compensation, while it crafts or fishes for free, and will mine and harvest for free.
MToy was selling pixel bot, using dumb graphical text recognition algorithm and sold a plenty of copies, while i am not even selling it.
At least i have to pay for hosting. That's a 20$ per month in Russia.

I still disagree.

Only issue! Jigging one time to catch a fish (or not catching the fish) is not "working" imo. Working would require the bot to know whether it needed to go left or right from the previous position so it can actually successfully catch *ALL* types of fish, not fish a R50 fisherman is able to reel in on a first attempt. The tool should easily be able to catch anything a human can; and it should be able to do so reliably and repeatedly.

MToy's bot was/is a piece of garbage so comparing to that isn't really a good thing, but if you insist, I would suggest that he did not have the community help him build his bot (xivhelper would probably beg to differ, but that is between them). I offered tools here, and paid for hosting. People who donated more than covered server cost.

I agree Lucid, you and others seem to give away a lot of memory advise. I know nothing about the memory and I still use pixel as it is easier for me to edit and create, not having to change it every time there is an update. I think everyone here that uses memory is awesome. But, I also dont know the risks to the user using memory bots.
While making money is nice, you have to price what you are actually giving people appropriately. I have thought of many ways to make the fishing bot better by adding a location selector and now that we have 100% jig locations identified, it would be easy to set jigs to 1-5 based on the remainder bar starting point. I dont know if that info is in memory and am not asking for it. just saying it could make the fishing memory bots a lot better.

There aren't any risks to reading memory which don't exist with other software. Specifically, those risks are that SE could potentially download all bots and create signature scanners just like cheaters can for games (or like antivirus programs do for viruses).
Writing memory is different. One familiar example is position hopping, where you edit your x/y/z coords to move or "teleport" your character. Most variables are stored server side (gil, attributes, inventory, etc), but if player position were stored server-side then your player would stop moving every time you lag-- it would be a bad experience even for fast connections at times. For that reason, player coordinates in most (perhaps all) games are stored client-side and updated server-side from time to time. Other game clients receive periodic updates from the server for other players, and they do their best to reconcile the player's position. AFAIK, Cooleko's bots use memory writing to move around, which is something I can't really recommend. Even if the tool programming to move characters were done in good faith and with great accuracy, one small miscalculation could potentially result in characters affected by that bug to be banned either now or in the future when SE detects impossibly fast movement. At least with regards to FFXI, SE likes to either (1) let their ban list grow before applying it, or (2) store user positions for a long time and only check them occasionally. I knew an individual who claimed to not have cheated for more than a year before being banned in FFXI.
Because of these kinds of issues, and other general memory-writing risks (like memory checksums and other traps), I would personally avoid writing to game memory for online games. My previously released tools did not use memory writing of any kind and I think most people would agree they worked well. Values should be polled from memory and the appropriate user input should be emulated based upon those values. Of course, nothing is bulletproof, but you do what you can to manage the inherent risk. Making calls to a game function ("hooks")/DLL injection would also be on my "no-no" list.
On a more general note, it would be possible to detect/ban just about any bot, if enough resources were allocated to doing so... but that would be an endless war and is not something which could be done with 100% success on SE's part despite just about any amount of manpower.
Everything in the game is in memory-- that's how the game knows about it! Even things which are sourced on disk will be read into memory for use (though they may be quickly removed).
As for the remainder bar, you could make a program with a heuristic/AI behavior that would identify the remainder bar starting value for each fish, then jig the appropriate location (or not, if the fish is undesirable). If two fish had the same initial remainder, you probably wouldn't have any way to fix it though.

FFXIV Bot
04/06/2011 - Final Fantasy XIV - 3 Replies
Hi, I have been reading these forums for a long time but this is my first post. Didn't know if anyone knows about this mmoviper place, they have put out their FFXIV bot, it is a Hunting/Gathering Bot. Basically you set up your spells/skills and tell it what to hunt/gather and let it run. It runs good, I ran it all night and when I woke up in the morning it was still going. They have some videos on youtube showing it.
