I'm getting a "MasterKrafter has stopped working" as soon as I try to open the .exe. This is when downloading from the link on page 1. Is this the link to the current version?

Edit: Rebooted PC, thought that might fix it but still giving me the same error. Can't even open MK.

No login prompt? The link in page 1 is correct

Correct. As soon as I open the file it waits like 10 sec and then I get a "MK has stopped working" - never makes it to the login screen.

That might be tough one to debug since it only sets the titlebar before opening

Do you have any ideas what might cause it? Are you running Windows XP or something outside of the norm? I ask because a good number of people are using it without issue already and the startup actions are almost as simple as could be.

Using Windows 7...I've been using this program since release..hadn't had a problem until now. I will try again to redownload it and see if that helps.

Edit: re-downloading did not help.

Hmm, I went into the .exe properties and hit the unblock button and now it works...not sure why it would be "blocked" or what that even means to be honest. When I go into properties now, its not even on the screen anymore. Oh well, it works so time to craft.

Someone else had a false positive, similar problems. Avira and Norton report on Heurestics (like pressing keys to background programs). Since my program doesn't add an entry to Add/Remove programs or a desktop icon, it gets flagged until 10 Norton users accept it, this might be your problem.

I'll give some thought to adding an installer and desktop icon. I might do those two if/when I add an automatic updater.

im running into the same issue. i unblock it. still the same problem. it tells me i dont have permission. when i go to add it in my firewall says i need to talk to the admin of the program

I've noticed that sometimes the bot won't open properly. The window comes up. I enter name/pword. Click Ok then the window just kind of hangs. Killing it and restarting seems to solve it though. Noticed this since I started using it. Not a big deal but a polish issue I suppose.

If you let the window hang and don't kill it, does it become responsive and continue after a few seconds?

It isn't clear if this is a firewall problem or AV problem, or if it is because you don't have enough permissions to read memory of the FFXIV process.

What tells you that you don't have permission? Is it Windows Firewall, your AV software, or a Windows UAC restriction?

Also, are you sure it says you need to talk to the admin of the program, and not the admin of the computer you are on?

i am the admin on my computer so i know that much. this is the message i get. Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. and up at the top of that box is C:\Users\"my User name"\Downloads\MastrKraftr.exe. i am running windows 7. i had no problems with the previous release. and the admin thing. i dont think i will need to talk to the admin. just need to figure out why it isnt wanting to give me permission.
